Okay. I'll take you as a credible source. But there was no freakin' way I was going to take Border's word for it.

I went to a Barns & Noble today to get "Unfit" and they are sold out. I talked to a nice young lady who said they have received several shipments and they fly off the shelves. She checked the computer and they will have more delivered in 5-7 days. If this one store is any indication, I expect that the publisher is having to fire-up the presses to get more copies into distribution. She took my name and will hold a copy for me when they arrive.
BTW. The sweetest thing about this is that the B&N I went to is about 2 miles from Teresa's Fox Chapel mansion. :~))

My Borders (Beverly Hills, MI) says they are sold out but the book is on re-order. I thanked her and said I would call back.

Borders still have the book for sale on it's website. It does say 5-7 week delivery.
There is no way a book seller can retrieve a book already sold.

Ummmm, having none of the Unfit for Command books means they have sold out and are popular. Having lots of Clinton's and Moore's books means they are not selling. I think what you saw is positive. Also check the amazon.com rankings which shows SBVT's book way ahead of Moore and Clinton.

"No publisher should want to be selling books with proven falsehoods in them, especially falsehoods that are meant to smear the military service of an American veteran," said Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton. "If I were them, I'd be ducking under my desk wondering what to do. This is a serious problem."Bellesiles published page after page of demonstrated falsehood, exaggeration, and dissimulation, and he won the Bancroft Prize for "Arming America." Note the double standard.

Strange, they weren't saying that when Joseph Wilson's book came out, among many others...

having none of the Unfit for Command books means they have sold out and are popular. Well, if they'd ordered enough in the first place, maybe it would be higher than #3 on the WSJ best seller list!

Yeah, I like how when the three stooges ( Moore, Wilson, and Clark) write books and produce propaganda, it is all about dissenting against a Nazi.
But, when the tides are turned....its libelous and the next step is to ban books. What hypocrites.

There is no way a book seller can retrieve a book already sold.Of course not. It meant they were trying to send them back to the publisher, if they are indeed doing that.

I just came from Barnes and UnNoble. They said 5 to 7 weeks. When I was walking out a women stopped me and said the book you wanted was Unfit for Command. I said yes. She went to three stores in the north Pittsburgh area and couldn't find it.

The Borders at Pentagon City just told me that they only have three left, that they're selling like hotcakes, and that they will be getting more in. So go figure. It must come down to the local management.

Your B&N sounds like my Borders. Exactly like it. That's why I believed this so quickly. They've damaged their own reputation.
