Sounds just like the United States.
1. "Reproductive rights" is a euphamism typically used by leftists to legitimize abortion and pedophilia.
2. Germans freely elected the Nazi regime in 1933. Though democratically elected, the regime was nevertheless totalitarian. There is basically no real freedom of speech in the EU. People have already been imprisoned and fined for criticizing favored groups like homosexuals and Muslims in Sweden and France.
3. The EU parliament is largely toothless - much like the Soviet legislature. The power is concentrated in the executive and the bureaucracy.
Once the Muslim population reaches critical mass, the EU, having outlived its usefulness, will collapse and an Islamic Caliphate will be established along with Sharia law. That is their stated goal.

I am a Pole, born in Poland, living in Canada for the past few years and I hate the EU. Many Poles (just over half) voted "yes" because they were sick and tired of the SLD, polands democratic left party (ie communists with a new name). The SLD was involved in some scandal, large or small, every few days. Many Poles believed that giving power to someone in Brussels would "clean up" the mess made by these communists, and give Poland's government a semblance of order. I told many people that they would be disappointed if the EU ruled, and that the EU would try to pressure us into changing things to suit mainly Germany and France. Many of these things are already coming to pass, for example, the pressure on Poland to change it's laws on abortion, or same sex "marriage."
These, and many other things are examples of the immoral EU's attempts to spread it's leftist poison.
If you are a patriotic person(like me), they (EU supporters) call you xenophobic, and a simpleton, backwards. They say you harbour old resentments, and consider yourself better than them, making you arrogant. Being proud of my country's hard-fought history is arrogance? I tell them that arrogance is what they expect, me to bow before them and their "superior" ideals, and let them suck my country dry for pennies, while Poland, which had to fight them for centuries, smiles and sings praise to the great EU. They believe if you allow people to do whatever they want to do, even that which is outright evil, and ardently support it, you are refined and sophisticated(just like other leftists). They try to ridicule what God has told us is right. They also have a very legalistic set of definitions for what they say is right or wrong. The truth is, God gave us all a conscience, and when you go against your conscience, you are doing wrong.
These sorts of people try to replace God with what they want to hear and do. That is the pure and simple truth. They, of course, deny it, using all sorts of fancy words like "xenophobic" and "homophobic."
This of preaching of "openness" is because these people want unrestricted acces to your country to dictate the terms of your life to you, while you politely nod, not wanting to be improper, behaving like a good leftist, a model EU citizen. I find it strange that these people preach this "openness" to allowing other countries to control your life, yet they do not allow many Poles to work in their countries, much less large Polish businesses expanding to their countries.
If you love the beatiful gift of life God has given that is an unborn child, and won't even consider abortion being right, they tell you that you want to "interfere with their freedom to have children or not."
This is a very weak, and even contrary argument, as you have the freedom to not have childeren, by not hopping into bed with someone! To take that freedom away means forcing someone to have sex with another, and I can tell you that this is not what anti-abortion means.
Once a woman is pregnant, she has a life within her, so she has chosen to have a child. It is too late now to decide " no, I don't want this. I will have an abortion."
"Abortion," what a vague word. It makes it seem that it is simply a revoking of a decision, when of course it is really killing a helpless baby. Again, a prime example of the EU's immorality.
Your freedom to choose is at the beginning. If you chose to go to bed with someone, you have already submitted your decision. You can't change this because you have started a new life. If these "rights" activists care so much about a person being able to choose for themselves, then what about the child's right to choose to live?
Of course, their answer is that a child in the womb is not a person. Then what is it ET?
If you are an American and leave, for example, for a visit to Poland, do you cease to be an American the moment your feet leave American soil?
Finally, when I show my revulsion at this gay "marriage" b.s., the EU types call me homophobic, and tell me that gays are just normal people. HA!!!!!
From the Lord's word, mentioned in several places in both the old and new Testament, gays are an abomination, and will not share in God's glory. Any attempt by anyone to nullify, or dance around these words shows you that they fight for the enemy of the world, the devil.
It would be easy to say that anyone that voted yes for the EU is evil, but in truth, most have been tricked and seduced by evil's lies and half-truths, and "the things that sound smart, but aren't"(from new Testament, where the Lord warns us not to believe these things, and remain faithful). To most people, the west is a bunch of countries which share most of their ideals, and see the situation in Poland and really care. The truth, though, is that Poland will be used for their gain, and every attempt will be made to replace Poland's "old fashioned" ideals. The leftist government has much to do with this, through their govvernment sponsored pro-EU advertising and singing the union praises.
I have advice for people everywhere(it seems to be a point well taken on these forums already): Dont Trust The Media!
At least in America the media's lying is not being supported by some socialist government, but evil is evil. Let us hope that no one like John Kerry is elected. Believe me, it is the first step in the wrong direction, and the longer this allowed to run free, the harder it will be to turn back.
I knew the EU was trouble for a very long time, almost since its inception. This was finalized for me when Germany and Franced tried to cut the number of seats they had promised Poland earlier. When Poland, in the traditional Polish manner, stubbornly refused to give in to this, the Germans and French accused Poland of trying to undermine peace and stability in Europe. These rediculous claims only increased when Poland agreed to support America in Iraq. We in Poland know what it is like to live under someone like hussein. The French do not, as their treatment in WWII compared to Poland's was like a lover's kiss compared to torment. The Germans, of course, were the ones who started this killing in WWII, along with the Russians. I would think that they would be sorry, and would want to make it up to Poland. Poland pretty much forgave them, yet they now want to totally control my country?
This is another example of the arrogance they accuse God-fearing people like me of.
I hope my words will help you understand Poland's current situation, being backstabbed as usual, but in this day and age, it is not "proper" to point this out.
Death to the EU and to evil.
