Oh yeah, if you are using Netscape, Mozilla or Firefox (as I am) right click on each link and
select "Save Link As..." in Internet Explorer right click and select "Save Target As..."

Go to this link http://swift2.he.net/~swift2/

At the bottom of the page the following will be shown.

I use Windows Media Player so I just clicked on it and the ad played and I saved it to disk.

Let me know if that works for you.

Saving a copy.

Note:

As soon as you view one ad, do a file search. The actual ad will probably be in your 'temporary' directory. [That varies from Windows version and user.]

After the file search, you can select the copy and move it from the 'temp' directory to a directory of your choice.

MSPlayer ad is in .wmv format. (1st ad)

2nd ad seems to be in .mpg format.

First ad is about 8.5 meg. Second ad is about 9 meg.

(I don't know why the viewer programs don't have a 'save the file' feature. They download the whole thing. But, if you have IE set to clear the cache, the file in the 'temp' directory will probably be erased. So, do the file search and move it to a non-temp.]

FYI

Got it, and a big thanks, BF!

I'm going to burn DVDs of both ads and get them out to some friends in the local media, who've not seen them yet.

The first ad will save to disk using real player. I am still working on the second; if all fails I will use my friend TV capture card. The first ad is only a little over one meg.

You may also "right click" the Windows Media Icon and choose "save target as" to copy the movie file to your hard drive.

Any of the formats are available for download using the "right click" in IE.

The second ad in two formats;

Quicktime

Windows Media

MPEG

They don't appear to have one up in the Real Audio format though, but most hopefully can play one of the other formats.

Doesn't work in Netscape; QuickTime want to install more crap onto my machine, but I did get it w/ IE as a *wmv file. Many thanks!

Also got a copy w/ BattleFlag's directions.

Poated this already:
You may also "right click" the Windows Media Icon and choose "save target as" to copy the movie file to your hard drive.

Any of the formats are available for download using the "right click" in IE.

This will work for hard drive download on your links as well. Just "right click" on the link and "save target as".

I have now placed the lin on Christian-news-in-maine.com current issue.

Thanks again, you would be amazed at how hard I had looked for that ad and was unable to find it.

Don't laugh, sometimes we get so overwelmed by all the news that we miss the trees for the forest.

I had an easier time saving them in Real one player format. Don't know how to put them on disk for there, but that is for hubby to figure out. Thanks for the head's up.

For years I used Netscape and really liked it. I don't particularily like IE and when Firefox came along I jumped at the chance to use it. It is free and very similar to Netscape.

Look it over http://www.mozilla.org/.

I thoroughly enjoy using it and would recommend it to anyone. I have never had a problem using it with my MS OS.

Thanks for the great tip, IB. I've got Firefox installed and running. Are you using the companions email client, Thunderbird, too? I've got it d/l'd, but need to read about it vs Netscape's email client.

Again, thanks for the pointer!

I have both ads in one wmv file (1.5 megs), send me your email and I will send it to you. Put this word in your subject line "swiftboat" (without the "s)
