Can we get copies of the swift vets ad?
CThomasFan

Posted on 08/21/2004 6:11:23 AM PDT by CThomasFan

In case the ads get pulled by the FCC I want MY OWN COPY for posterity. My kids need a record of what the dems tried to do to our country...and how we almost let them get away with it. Is there a way to DOWNLOAD a copy? Also someone mentioned that after a certain date they cant put it on TV anymore, but can send out CD's with it on them....from what I understand burning a CD costs just about nothing and we can keep them going out until Nov 2!

there is NO LAW that says that you cannot personally say on the radio/tv/soapbox or print anything on a flyer, Letter to the Editor, or even buy your own ad.

You can say kerry is a liar and a traitorous SOB and the govt cannot do a thing legally to stop you. Kerry might sue for libel though. So make sure you only tell the proveable truth.

Just don't say "VOTE" or "DON'T VOTE" - that MAY fall under the govt attempt to shut us up!

It does cost nothing, I've got tons of blanks here (and can buy more at Staples anytime) I'd be happy to copy and distribute these things around my neighborhood. Like a paper flyer, only totally 21st Century!

Go to this link - http://www.swiftvets.com/index.html - click here.

Then click on "Click Here to watch - Sell Out" and you should be able to view and then save the current ad. It is a dandy. Bettr than the first even and in my opinion much more to the point.

I have looked over their page and can't find it. Perhaps someone reading this can contact them and have them put it back up so we can all save it to disk.

Boss Jim, reporting for duty.

I have downloaded both ads in Quicktime format. If anyone needs a CD burned, send me a FReep-mail.

Visit www.swiftvets.com . You can contribute to help keep the ad running. You can also view a transcript of the ad.

It is unlikely the FCC would pull the ad unless it was indecent or it was grossly inaccurate. Since it is not inaccurate, siting first hand accounts, it is unlikely the FCC would even consider putting a squash on it. However it is more likely the individual networks and stations may choose to not run the ads, either based upon their bias or believing the threats of the Kerry campaign.

I can get the ads captured to hard drive. I will see about converting them to a few different formats. I can also put them into a DVD format but they my be costly to burn.

Do you have a similar link to the first ad, IB? I tried some other links, but QuickTime wants to install some junk on my machine...

I'm using Windows XP.

Go to the link(s) above and open the ad in Windows Media Player. Let the entire video download into the player.

Then open the File menu and save media type as xxxxxx.wmv
You have to add the file extension .wmv.

Hope this helps

I can't imagine there would be any objection by the SBVTs to these links being posted so if you feel like running these ads in your local market yourself, go for it! :o)

The first ad in 4 different formats:

Quicktime

Windows Media

MPEG

Real Audio
