On the balance this is a pretty fair article. Especially considering it's from the Times. But they blew it with this sentence...
"Despite evidence that the veterans group is politically motivated and that several members have lied or contradicted themselves, the affair has swamped the Democratic campaign."
I've seen NO evidence any of them have lied, and the only contridictions are coming from the Kerry campaign. But considering the rest of the crap I've read today, I'll give the Times at least a B+ for effort. I guess the latest democrat talking points haven't made it across the pond yet.

The quote you refer to is the worst but this one
Heavily financed by Republican sympathisers close to Bush, the group has also produced a television advertisement that appears to have provoked a sharp decline in support for Kerry among veterans also shows the Times deep sympathies for Kerry.
I give it a "C", tops.

Evidently, you don't understand the definition of the verb "to lie." In liberal lingo, it means "to tell the truth" or "to contradict enemy propaganda."

I've seen NO evidence any of them have lied, and the only contridictions are coming from the Kerry campaign. This part is in reference to the article in the Boston Globe where the reporter (who also wrote an introduction to Kerry's book & Kerry cleaned off his website) misquoted Elliot and he had to sent out another affidavit saying he hasn't changed his opinions
EVERY media/paper FAILS to mention that
