Those sumb*tches lost again...to Lithuania I think. Are they still in it? The American women won, though...

There would be no situation in which he'd be in where he'd be booed. It's not like he would be getting a separate entrance, or any sort of official acknowledgement, i.e., throwing out a first pitch.

I'm sure they won't go if Iraqi team will not meet with him. He's the sort to meet with them off camera in private anyway and then leave, then letting them to tell the press about it, being surprised by him and turned by meeting him and having a favorable opinion.

You're laboring under the assumption that they hated Saddam because they wanted a free democracy. They hated Saddam because Saddam was keeping them from having the Taliban-style theocracy they wanted all along.

Very bad move on Bush's part. The Iraqi soccer players will make a point of telling the reporters how bad he is.

Very bad idea. He should stay home and practice his acceptance speech for the convention.

If it works for W the ratz will call a "GRANDSTANDING COWBOY" foul.

OTOH, if it doesn't work for W - say the Iraqi soccer team complains - it's more fodder for the ratz.

Combined with general risk factor I would rather W stayed away...

Well its because of Bush that the Iraq soccer team is able to play in the Olympics without getting killed afterwards if they lose any games. They should be dam greatful they can keep their heads when they go back home!

Why would Bush go somewhere where he is almost guaranteed to be greeted with boos?

Good question, but I'm sure they've thought of that.

You're right, but we're not dealing with a logical culture here. They'll never realize the irony in being able to slam Bush without any repercussions.

No it's not. Even the Iraq the Model blog will say that a majority of citizens hate Bush because he's not Muslim.

Don't be surprise if the Soccer team was coached and egged on by the media to say that about Bush's ad. The media hates Bush and know that the Iraq team is very new to this.

Thanks Drudge, lets just put the terrorists on notice. In fact, why don't you email them and let them know when his flight is arriving, where he will be staying, and what seat he will be in.

Jerk!
