When the Swiftvets lose we all lose. We will see tomorrow what the postimesjournal has to say to debase the Swiftvets. From what I can tell it is going to be that the Swiftvets and Kerry both where wrong. They will attempt to undermine the Swiftvet's facts with unsubstantiated hersay and never point it out. Then of course they will point out that Bush and Rove are personally calling each and everyone of the Swiftvets and telling them what to say. The end result is the sheeple will fall back into their slumber.

OK, so what are they gonna do about the latest ad with the POWs and Kerry's lying testimony to the Senate? These fools in the press are fighting last week's battle. Let them flail away.

Think of that first ad as a 'loss-leader'. It will be the only one where Kerry and company can present anything like an alternate set of facts. BUT, it got everybody into the store, and now it's time to sell the high-profit items that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. Things like the Senate testimony, VVAW, his role with the MIA issue...you know, the things that make him a bonified backstabbing, lying scumbag instead of merely another politician prone to exaggerating his war record.

It's too late. The "geine" is out of the bottle.

indeed, your post is a good one amongst all the chest thumping here over the last few days - this story has taken over FR, talk radio, etc.

truth is, there is tremendous risk to Bush from this effort. and we didn't really need this story to defeat Kerry; but we have it now, Kerry is linking it directly to Bush (a smart political move) - so if it blows up in the swift vets faces, it blows up in Bush's too.

the current ad - with Kerry's actual testimony and the veteran's opinion about it - was the far better ad to run then getting into a set of "we said/they said" accusations.
