Why not? I recall listening to him on the radio in the 1990s and being annoyed but I don't remember the specifics. My compliments to him in this context have more to do with his ability to remain tolerant and secular in his attacks on same sex "marriage." He said at one point that he couldn't speak for Jesus Christ.

I have three boys. I have never ever spanked them with anything other than an open hand, nor has my husband. They are wonderful children and did not ever need an implement to spank. Indeed, one spanking was enough for each one.

I last listened to Focus on the Family in the late 80s. I stopped because Dr. Dobson engaged in pretty continuous man bashing (dumb insensitive husband stuff).
