In the wake of accusations of racism against minority employees of Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, an opponent is urging elected officials to launch an investigation to determine if racial discrimination is widespread at the organizations' facilities nationwide.
"With new allegations officially recorded, it now raises the question of how many other incidents may have occurred but have gone unreported," said Jim Sedlak, executive director of American Life League's STOPP International, a group that monitors Planned Parenthood.
As WorldNetDaily reported, several black and Hispanic male employees of Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, or PPLA, have filed multiple complaints of racism against the organization, charging they were the subject of constant slurs in a hostile, anti-male environment controlled by white women.
The employees made the allegations in sworn affidavits filed with California's Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, or EEOC, and Fair Employment and Housing Administration, or FEHA.
Sedlak said this is not the first such claim made against the group.
"Many people have noted the apparent external racism of Planned Parenthood through the years," he said. "Now employees of the organization are documenting what is going on behind closed doors."
The new allegations raise the question of how many other incidents have gone unrecorded, he said.
On Nov. 11, 1998, he noted, the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of ruled Lamarilyn Fadeyi, an employee of Planned Parenthood of Lubbock, Texas, had standing to file complaints against the organization for racial discrimination.
Fadeyi was an African-American woman employed by the group for seven years. She alleged Planned Parenthood engaged in various acts of racial discrimination, ranging from discriminatory scheduling and distribution of office resources to the executive director giving her and another black employee an application for membership in the Ku Klux Klan.
Fadeyi filed complaints with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Commission on Human Rights.
Nationally, Planned Parenthood receives over $250 million in taxpayer money annually, Sedlak said. Last year, Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles received $9.6 million in taxpayer money, half of its total income.
Along with the federal investigation, STOPP also is renewing its call to legislative bodies at the federal, state and local levels to cease all funding of the group and its affiliates.
(i.e. abuse of those young enough to still be in the womb)

It'a a disgraceful abuse of our hard earned money. When is this going to stop?
