In retrospect I think it would have been best if the Swift Boat vets had just made commercials and charges about Kerry's actions AFTER the war.
I think their charges about Kerry DURING the war have merit and I understand the Swifties desire to set the record straight. But in a time of war, the fog of war, etc., I think it's a difficult case to make.
Their case for Kerry's after war actions are clear and easy to make. He was a traitor to his country and he will never be forgiven by the veterans or by me. Never.
I don't agree, Peach. Do you remember me telling you that by the time this is over, John Kerry will wish he never ran for President?
You and I know that the cover-up is always worse than the crime, right? Well, there is more to come. But, it is best to wait for Kerry to get all his quotes and responses on the record first. Remember Mike Boorda? Revenge (for Kerry's anti-war activities) is a dish best served cold.

Mike Boorda - committed suicide presumably over medals and the question of whether or not he was entitled to wear them. Killed himself rather than bring dishonor on the military.
Bullfeathers. Kerry's comments included "we cannot consider ourselves America's best men when we are ashamed of and hated what we were called on to do in Southeast Asia."
And he referred to American troops as murderers: "200,000 a year who are murdered by the United States of America."
No, to think that he is the Conservative voice of NPR is delusional. There is no Conservative voice on NPR.

My wife and my son-in-law said the same thing. W is keeping this at arm's length, as he should. This is not his fight.
As for whom this will hurt, negative ads work.

I deal with a now grown but used to live with us stepdaughter who is a serial liar, so I have a little experience with liars, unfortunately.
And yes, I noticed through the years that the bigger the lie, the more people were willing to believe it.
I hope it's a long, cold few months for Kerry. LOL

Kerry's big strategic mistake was inadequately addressing the charges last week.
He needed to either continue ignoring it and then the MSM would have continued to do so.
OR, he needed to take the time to explain specifically how the Swift Boat vets are lying and agree to release ALL of his military records. He didn't explain because he can't.
Sorry, Bush is on the high ground here and they cannot truthfully tie him to the Swift Boat Ads.........
The media cannot pretend they don't know, they don't hear, they don't see.........because we have presented incontrovertable evidence.
