I havent said much but my final duty station in the Navy was base master at arms in Vallejo Calif. The time frame was June tru Oct 1969. This was the training base for PBR's and Swifts (brown water navy).I more than likely had some of these enlisted men in my baracks. I just dont remember any of the names. They were all very good guys. The death rate of these men was very high.

The men appearing for the swiftees are certainly cool and articulate under hostile reporter fire!

" ... my final duty station in the Navy was base master at arms in Vallejo Calif ..."

Interesting detail.

As far as ... "The death rate of these men was very high." ... According to "UNFIT FOR COMMAND", page 4, it is stated that they "lost more than fifty souls".

A high rate indeed.
