I bet Kerry has more medals than some of the prisoners of war. Which means that some of the POW's were in a stinking prison being tortured for more than 2400 days than the entire time Kerry was in "combat".

7 years vs about 3 weeks. Wow! Bless the POW's.

In that case, then the only one who could qualify to dispute Galanti is someone who was a POW in Hanoi. Game, Set, Match.

You're right about that OldFrield - - this whole Vietnam thing has brought back bad memories of the '60s and early '70s. I was in my early 20's, but I'll never forgive those dirty hippies that tore this country apart.

And now this -- this poor excuse for a human being now running for President. And listening to Paul Galanti driving home form work, I was weeping and having those awful flashbacks (no drugs involved) to those times.

Kerry needs to be tried for treason -- it needs to be said by these brave gentlemen again, and again, and again.....

The "Bush Campaign involved with the Swift Vets" rhetoric, is just a Kerry campaign tactic to divert from the POW torture. Notice that most coverage is on the "collusion" and not the POWs torture.

Focus on the POW torture and betrayal. That's what the Kerry campaign doesn't want.

She said he had betrayed his country because he did not go to Nam. What does she have to say about Edwards?

Why do I get the feeling that the only option the dems have is to trot out a high profile POW to refute this. I'm thinking of McCain.

I have to admit I wasn't watching it. What you say sounds right.

Paul Galanti was on local Philly radio on Friday and brought down the house.

John O'Neill on Dom Giordano (1210AM - Phila.)

Betrayal doesn't even cover it. There are no words for such evil as he perpetrated on his fellow veterans and those millions who perished when we cut and run from Viet Nam.

What happened to all those millions makes Rwanda look like Sunday school.......and the beat goes on and on while the evildoers get away with murder thanks to Kerry and his ilk......Schroeder, Chirac, Anan....

Good question. Kerry speaks French, so it's hard to say. He is a snob, so he may have been showing off. That's possible. However, getting really pedantic, there are some aspects of history I've studied only in French, and I have to think to "Americanize" my spoken references. Unless he studied specially in the era that dealt with Gengis Kahn, which he may have during his time in school in Europe, I would consider the possibility that he picked it up elsewhere. It's a big stretch, though.

does that make them cowards? the swiftees aren't used to tv either, but have such faith in what they have to say that they are willing to face the slings and arrows of the press. The only "vet" allowed on is Hurley, even Rassmann is used only for ads.

he was supposeed to be attending drills as an Active Reservist from 1970-72.

And the media knows this. And he, the DNC, and the media have the unmitigated audacity to bawl about Bush's National Guard record.

Paul Galante, a POW in the new Swifty commercial stated that he had never had a flashback until he recently heard John Kerry pronouncing Ghengis Khan as Jhengis Khan (french pronounciation evidently) again.

It was chilling my friend, chilling.

Is there any possibility that Kerry's Congressional testimony was merely a recitation of Viet Cong/Chicom "talking points"?

KGB, according to Chapter 7 of Unfit for Command. They quote a Ion Mihai Pacepa, the highest-ranking Soviet Intelligence officer to defect to the West, who spoke out in June 2004 about KGB intelligence operation that he believed was the basis for the assertions of war crimes and atrocities and the heart of Kery's 1971 Fulbright testimoney (source Unfit for Command page 123, 124)

Pacepa lays out in incredible details the wide ranging propaganda that the Soviets churned out and fed the young in this country in order to damage American credibility in Vietname. They spent millions to do it.

All such a person could say is, "It didn't happen to me." We'd say that we're grateful it wasn't worse for him, thank him for his service and repeat what Galanti has testfied to. (And I mean testfied, since I assume he signed an Affidavit under penalty of Perjury as the others did. I haven't received my copy of UfC yet.)

Yes, only because you're writing to someone who gets tons of mail --- probably a short span of attention there. I liked it all, but I have all day to read :) So tighten it up a little. :)

"Actually, Colmes was unusually respectful toward Mr. Galanti. I think he's one of the few libs that has some semblance of decency."

He seems to be backing off on the Swifties, compared to how be was responding when this first hit Fox. Wonder if his sense of justice is jabbing him in the ribs?

One of the (wives of the POWs) accused Mr. Kerry of
"constantly using our own suffering and grief
for his his political ambitions."
