Colmes is getting better- he is still a lib, but he makes me want to punch his lights out less often. He gives his own side some guff too and holds their feet to the fire.

Kerry was not discharged. He was transferred to the inactive reserve after four years active duty. As some are finding out now the inactive reserve is still a real part of the armed forces of the U.S.. Kerry kept his reserve comission until 1978 so he was under the authority of the UCMJ when he went to Paris to meet the reps of the NLF and NVN.

A bit long---and fix the spelling of LIAR in the 4th paragraph. Other than that it's great!

2/18/66 Enlisted in U.S. Naval Reserve

1/3/70 Changes status to inactive duty in the Naval reserve

7/1/72 Transferred to standby reserve

So to answer your question, he was still in the Navy when he testified and when he went to Paris.

Can someone please answer this question: What was K's status when he testified before Congress, went to Paris, etc??.

Active Navy reserves? Inactive?

Not sure but he was probably inactive reserve. Depending on the circumstances behind his commission. I'm not too sure how it works for Officers.

"Recognises John Kerrys mispronunciation of Ghengis Khan...."

It was distinctive, but it is not a mispronunciation. It is the French pronunciation. (French major)

Colmes is using the DNC talking point that if you weren't on the same boat, you don't know shite about it.

What Kery did or didn't do in Viet Nam is realy a moot point. Let's stop debating the RATS about it. What counts is what he did after he returned to the United States.....

Honest men can disagree about whether or not Kerry fluffed up his deeds to get a purple heart, but his testimony before Congress was crystal clear: It's part of the Congressional record and tape recorded for posterity. His actions in testifying before Congress and in leading the VVAW gave great aid and comfort to the enemies of freedom. Only God Almighty knows the entire toll Kerry's actions had on the lives of the men he sold out, and on the innocent people of South Viet Nam who perished. My eyes well up with tears when I consider the years so many of our finest and bravest men suffered from injuries that were inflicted upon them by the enemy emboldened by Kerry's rhetoric. The names on the wall. The ones we will never know. Their blood cries out from the ground. Surely, we can in charity forgive John Kerry for his folly, maybe even excuse his actions because he was "swept up with the times." Maybe. But should this man ever be allowed the honor of serving as the President of the United States of America? Never.

Every time I hear that "Jenjis Khan" I cannot help but be ill. I know that it is a small point, compared to the bigger picture, but his pretentiousness is sickening.

LOL I thought I was the only one who was irritated by that pronunciation, then I was thinking maybe I'd been pronouncing it wrong all these years. JF'nK is a pretentous boob, God save the United States if he gets in. With the media going full court press for him, he may just sneak in.

What really infuriates me is that with all the talk of Vietnam JF'nK is essentially getting a free pass and running out the clock. He still hasn't given ONE specific proposal for what will happen in a Kerry administration

John Kerry hates America and everything America is supposed to stand for; everything American soldiers have sacrificed for.

He must not be allowed the keys to 1600 P Ave. This is not, or at least should not be, soley an American concern.

A Kerry presidency would have, I believe, catastrophic implications for international stability. Countries like Canada can elect defective leaders and it matters mainly locally. US elections, and the choices Americans make like it or not, impact the whole world.

What are the rules for foreigners like Canadians contributing to Swift Vet type groups (hint hint)?

Cheers, eh!

No, I don't think that's accurate. He had to serve some reserve time. Check out a more honest timeline of his DOS.
