VAN ODELL on FOX
Fox and Friends ^ | August 24, 2004 | WebTalk

Posted on 08/24/2004 5:39:06 AM PDT by WebTalk

Van Odell interviewed on Fox just responded that he'll take a lie detector test "any time".

He suggested we give the test to Kerry too. Note that he didn't condition his test on Kerry testing also.

He did a great job answering directly all their questions, which is always easy to do when you're telling the truth.

I liked his explanation about the alleged enemy fire. He said it would be absurd for the enemy to fire from both sides of the river. They would be shooting at each other.

If you always tell the truth, it is easy to remember what you told whom.

I liked his explanation about the alleged enemy fire. He said it would be absurd for the enemy to fire from both sides of the river. They would be shooting at each other.

That reminds of the movie Ronin where Sean Bean's Kerryesque character, a blowhard who can't stop dropping references to his military service, tells the crew of thieves how he would ambush their target.

Robert DeNiro's character goes up and draws Bean's plan on a blackboard, showing how it would mean the whole team firing at one another in close quarters.

Brilliantly played scene.

Whether Kerry wants to end this or not is entirely up to him. Having said that, this controversy puts the Bush administration in a very unique position in that Bush can now step back from the Vietnam frey and let the Swift Boat Vets and Kerry fight this out. Kerry, showing utter ignorance, still chooses to dual with President Bush. Kerry will lose this election not because of George Bush and the Swift Boat Vets, but because of Kerry himself. Watch other democrats scatter to the four corners of the earth and anywhere else so as not to be associated with Kerry.

Today on Fox News one of the Swift Boat veterans denied Kerry committed atrocities, he said Kerry knows he didnt commit atrocities and that others in the Swift Boat Command didnt commit atrocities. The implicantion was that Kerry lied before the Congress to make his point against the war and now he is stuck with that lie. In fact, he is ,stuck with it, if he did lie he cant admit it,that would mean he purjured himself, That would mean he lied for Jane Fonda and her friends. And if he didnt lie it means that he and his crew committed atrocities. Whatever is the truth we dont need John Kerry as President.

"He suggested we give the test to Kerry too"

Won't do any good - Remember, it's not a lie if you believe it to be true.

Kerry has told his lies for so long he'd most likely pass.

A voluntary polygraph test by a few of the SwiftVets would be the ultimate act. If they all passed with similar results, the pressure would be too much for Kerry to not release his records. They are not usable in legal cases, but they sure would be powerful ammunition in the public relations war!

According to O'Neill, there could
be truth to the story that Kerry
burned a village(no justifiable
reason). Said it should be looked
into. But the Vet you quote was
not witness to such, obviously.

I saw it as well. He did a fine job answering questions. He was not incoherent and not hateful, like his opponents have been.

Interesting quote from John Kerry..from 1971 (quote is noted in recent column by Rich Lowry of National Review):

"We wish that a merciful God could wipe away our memories of that service (in Vietnam)."

It seems that JFK soon changed his mind ...flipflopped...and has been presenting his side of the story ever since....

Whether Kerry wants to end this or not is entirely up to him.

Kerry could have ended this in the Spring after he wrapped up the nomination but before the real campaign season began. He could have offered a sincere apology to all veterans for his comments in 1971. He could have downplayed his medals and insisted he was not as brave as one might suppose. This would have defused the issue somewhat.

He cannot do that now. It would mean the end of his white house bid. He will see this to the bitter end. Now, after listening to O'Neill on Rush yesterday, I am convinced that the vets will see this to the end as well. This will be very bloody (figuratively speaking, of course).

Me too. Looks like Lurch has another problem on his hands..........will he or won't he? Sounds like a challenge he can't pass up. I'd like to be a fly on the wall of the "war room" right now. Bet it's fear and dreading in there right now. I love it!!!

"We wish that a merciful God could wipe away our memories of that service (in Vietnam)."

Well, this obviously proves the existence of a merciful God, because Kerry's apparently forgotten everything he actually did and replaced it with a much more attractive version. ;)

Doocy was reerring to how innacurate the military reports could be. He said in one person's records for a medal or something, they didn't have the correct name of the river he was on.

Thank you for clearing that up. When one is trying to listen to Fox News and read FreeRepublic at the same time, sometimes I miss out on something. LOL

I didn't see Fox and Friends (on too early here!) but I'm sure it refers to William Rood (the editor at the Chicago Tribune) who wrote a piece in defense of Kerry that actually contradicts Kerry. In the piece Rood happens to mention that his own citation for the bronze star notes the wrong river they were on.

My comment: So much for the vaunted "documentation" Chris Wallace and others wave around as the written in stone "truth".

Subject: Swift Boat - O'Dell Interview

        Nice interview. Thank you.

By the way, Rood's story relates to the incident where
Kerry earned a Silver Star, for beaching his boat in the face of
numerically superior enemy while under intense fire. In this
incident, Kerry also got off the boat to dispatch a single
fleeing VC, but that point is not pertinent to the Silver Star
(Feb 28, 1969). All parties agree there was enemy fire that day.

This is a separate incident from the one Rassmann
testifies about, where Kerry's Bronze Star was awarded for
pulling Rassmann out of the water while under enemy fire. (Mar
13, 1969). None of the boats received bullet holes, and none of
the sailors obtained a bullet wound.

It is easy to get the incidents confused, based
on the way they are reported by the media. Perhaps you
could clear up some of the confusion.

metro sexual that would sit on the left hand of the woman.
FNC rocked until they started on Peterson, I changed ch. then.
