Heinz ketchup, in 'upside down' bottles, rests on a shelf in a grocery store in Cranberry, Pa. on Tuesday, March 11, 2003. H.J. Heinz Co. reported its first-quarter earnings fell 9 percent from results a year ago when its profits were boosted by the sale of some of its businesses to Del Monte. (AP Photo/Keith Srakocic)

Cool. My sister-in-law bought a bottle of Heinz ketchup while here and I took her receipt and exchanged it for another brand.

Because it's reddish tint reminds voters of the blood shed by POW's getting tortured while John F'ng Kerry made pain greater.

Since the CEO of Heinz is a Republican and heavy donor to the RNC, I guess this means he will have less money to donate.

That W ketchup has a nice zingy flavor,
and I was a big time Heinz ketchup lover.

Hahaha I live in Pittsburgh, Heinz is the local Ketchup...well not made here anymore since the Del Monte sale, but you don't find anything but Heinz here.
Frankly while I get the political jab attempted by "boycott" Heinz Ketchup has about as much to do with Theresa as Kerry has to do with Honor. Her relationship with the Heinz family was by marriage only.

Heinz is the company Terayza's husband, a big pub, built. She is not an officer nor does she sit on the board of directors. Her only connection at this time is continuing to hold stock in the company, which is less than 5%.
She sold out most of her shares a long time ago and uses that money to support lefty causes. Going after Heinz because she holds shares is like going after Rogaine because Carville uses it on his cueball head.

It's a shame that a company once run by a Republican has fallen into the hands of the enemy. So be it.
My last Heinz product was a 32 oz bottle of ketchup. It made a wonderful target and exploded nicely when impacted by a .308 round fired from my Springfield Armory M1A.

Going after Heinz because she holds shares is like going after Rogaine because Carville uses it on his cueball head. I see your point, but Heinz probably doesn't donate proceeds to the families of fallen soldiers like W ketchup does.
Let's see Heinz print that on THEIR bottles.

Going after Heinz is a waste of time and counter productive. It is a company built be a conservative who's current CEO is a staunch Republican and heavy donor. Terayza is simply a stockholder and has nothing to do with the management.

It's a shame that a company once run by a Republican has fallen into the hands of the enemy. So be it. Ummm ... the company is still run by Republicans who are big time donors in PA. Kerry and Co. have no connection to the company other than owning a small percentage of the stock and continuing to cling to the last name.
To: Bob J
Since the CEO of Heinz is a Republican and heavy donor to the RNC, I guess this means he will have less money to donate. This was exactly my thought on the matter. A company that large employs no telling how many hundreds or thousands of GOP and Bush supporters.
Think I'll just stick with Heinz catsup. The local brand could be owned by died-in-the-wool Dems for that matter.

And Heinz has been trying to distance itself from
wannabee co-president Teresa's campaign, but they
have a real branding problem, and are failing to
catch the attention of the boycotters.
Perhaps if they ran adds asking Teresa to stop
calling herself "Teresa Heinz Kerry" and just
refer to herself as "Teresa Kerry".
It would make their point, and call attention
to this awkward aspect of the Kerry civil union.

All the Heinz non-profits can be reviewed on Guidestar. Some of the foundations will show what they've done with their donations, others hide that information. The Heinz Company gives the Heinz Foundation $6 million a year and that foundation makes gifts to other Heinz foundations. In fact, Ken Lay of Enron and Terry Kerry have been directors of one of these foundations since 1997.
The crapweasels might want you to believe there is little or no connection. My test is "is the connection close enough that if it were Rove and someone else, the NYT would get snotty?", then I believe it and act to the extent I can. I no longer buy anything Heinz and won't use it unless there is no alternative.
Hey, but Halliburton still gets hit because Cheney used to work there. Why would we be any less petty or vindictive when it came to Terry's company?

In the words of the immortal Gomer Pyle, "Suuuprize, Suuuprize, Suuuprize!" The product's association with that loopy witch Tuh-ray-zuh Heinz Kerry is why the product has lost sales. Just take a look at the comments in response to this news item.
This is yet another example of why companies are picky about their spokespersons. Are you listening Whoopie Goldberg? How about you Bill Maher? In their self righteous stupor, left wing loonies never think that someone may actually disagree with their screwball ideas and refuse to buy products associated with them.
