These Democratic Pols that keep supporting Bush for President really makes me wonder if they are truly in the right party. Everything that man said goes against everything the Dimocrap party is today.

Maybe he should switch.

Maybe he should switch.

He would, but if you know anything about the PROY (People's Republic of Youngstown) you'll understand. He'd suddenly become unelectable. That town is the most heavily-Democratic part of Ohio.

Jim Traficant was from there.

There are certain cities, like Youngstown, OH, Pittsburgh, PA and Philadelphia, PA, where it doesn't matter what you believe or who you are, you won't be elected without the "D" next to your name on the ballot and you will lose with the "R" there. That is why there are some conservative Democrats in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. For example, look at Frank Rizzo, who was elected Mayor of Philadelphia as a Democrat but couldn't really come close as a Republican.

In any case, Mayor McKelvey is a brave man who deserves all of the credit in the world for taking this stand.
