John Kerry's ties to 527's

Posted on 08/24/2004 2:04:12 PM PDT by kcvl

Zach Exley - Former director of special projects for the MoveOn PAC is now the online communications director for the Kerry campaign. He’s also the one who started the Bush cocaine smear in 2000.

Jim Jordan - John Kerry’s former campaign manager is now a spokesperson for America Coming Together, which is helping to sponsor anti-Bush concerts and is famous for using convicted felons to including sex offenders, to try and register voters door to door.

George Soros - A direct contributor John Kerry’s campaign, he has donated literally, tens of millions of dollars to MoveOn.org, ACT, and The Media Fund. He is also the largest contributor to The Center For American Progress, which just happens to back Media Matters Whores For America. The Center for American Progress is run by John Podesta who also is a direct contributor to John Kerry.

ACT was formed by Steve Rosenthal, the former political director of the AFL-CIO, and Ellen Malcolm of Emily’s List, both of whom have contributed directly to John Kerry’s campaign.

Harold Ickes - Former deputy White House chief of staff for Bill Clinton is the head of The Media Fund, another anti-Bush 527. He is also a direct contributor to John Kerry.

Stephen Bing, a Hollywood producer, who in the past has donated money to John Kerry has donated millions of dollars to various 527’s as has Peter Lewis, head of Progressive Insurance.

Environment 2004 is anti-Bush environmental 527 that was started by Bruce Babbitt, Bill Clinton’s former Interior Secretary and Carol Browner, the former head of the EPA. Babbitt has contributed directly to Kerry’s campaign. In fact many of the board members of Environment 2004 are Kerry campaign contributors.

The DNC is also conducting a major petition drive in partnership with MoveOn.org. More than 310,000 Americans have signed the petition to protect our courts — with more than 172,000 of those signatures coming in the past 36 hours. The petition calls on Bush and the Republicans to stop nominating judges that are out of step with mainstream Americans and praising the Democrats for standing up for their rights."

Don't forget: Zack Exley is the guy behind GWBUSH.com, the website that the 2000 Bush campaign tried to shut down because it was too similar to the official site.

He also was the head guy in charge of the online content at MoveOn.org. It was mere days after the Kerry campaign hired him that the anti-Bush ad contest with those two entries portraying Bush as a neo-Hitler started at MoveOn. I think it's unlikely that his hands were clean of that.

Has ANYONE in the mainstream media reported on these ties?

We've known for at least a week that Kerry has hired a former MoveOn.org staffer and to my knowledge it hasn't been mentioned even one time on any MS news channel.

Jim Jordan

Jim Jordan served as campaign manager for John Forbes Kerry for the U.S. presidential election, 2004 until November 10, 2003, when he was replaced by Mary Beth Cahill.[1]

Jordan, who had run Kerry's campaign "since it began last December", had "also worked in Kerry's Senate office in 1999 when Kerry was contemplating and then rejected a 2000 presidential bid."[2]

Jordan, "a well-known Democratic operative, was a spokesman for the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of then-President Bill Clinton. He also worked on the Senate committee that investigated political fund-raising scandals in the 1990s and the 1996 campaign that elected Tim Johnson of South Dakota to the Senate." Jordan is also the former head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.[3]

OH NO! A professed Democrat supporting an anti Bush smear campaign via a 527 group. How unique. Where oh where are the demorats dissing this guy for his connection to the Democratic Party? Silence except for there continued charges of connections between the Swifties and Bush.
