David Limbaugh Interviews John O'Neill

David: Before I get into the questions I had prepared, I noticed in your interview with Jim Lehrer that there was almost conclusive evidence that both Kerry’s first and third Purple Hearts were fraudulent. Are you saying, then, that his Second Purple Heart was not fraudulent?

John O’Neill: No, not at all. If we are using our standard of, you know, burden of preponderance of the evidence, the second Purple Heart would fall as fraudulent. It’s just that we couldn’t conclusively prove it was fraudulent, so we took the position that we have no position on the second Purple Heart. But we do have a great deal of evidence that it was fraudulent as well.

If Kerry would've ignored this in the beginning, it might never have made it off the ground with the cooperation of the Big media. But he had to raise too much cain and that's what kept it alive. Now, like Watergate, it is out of Kerry's control and spinning faster and faster.

My nephew (18 yrs old) never met his maternal grandfather. He was a highly decorated fighter pilot who was shot down in Vietnam and killed in action. My nephew has learned about John Kerry's Purple Hearts. He is furious with Kerry. He thinks Kerry has cheapened his grandfather's career in the armed services and minimized the medals his grandfather earned.

Spread the word. Kids who have relatives in the military get it. Anyone who has lost a loved one or has seen loved ones come home from a war with significant injuries gets it.

Forward these articles to everyone on your e-mail list. It is important that the facts get out. Kerry has to answer for his actions...finally.

Yep. It's too big to stop now! Much like a runaway train with a belly full of steam on a downhill track. It's gonna run over whatever it hits. It's Kerry's Waterloo! Or should I say Watergate!

...and we went through the episode with that reporter, and the reporter started off cynical. But at the end, of course, he realized that Kerry had lied about the whole episode that he closed the Democratic Convention with, and we asked if was going to do an article on this. And, you know what he said? But this would help George Bush.”...infuriating......

Personally, I'd stay away from the second Purple Heart. That's the one that Kerry still carries shrapnel from and calling it fraudulent isn't the slam dunk that the first and third are. I don't think the SwiftBoatVets should stretch. They'll only wind up making themselves look bad if they get something wrong.

Just read the whole piece, thanks. Wow, can't wait to read the book which should show up Thursday.

“The New Soldier.” Kerry wrote this book with two of his closest cohorts, David Thorne and George Butler in 1971
Thorne ? any relative of JK wife#1 ?

Yes. It's hard to argue a guy doesn't deserve a medal for a wound he still carries the shrapnel from. He may not deserve it but I don't think that the swing voters will see it that way. Stick to the slam dunks.

Everybody HAS to go to Limbaugh's site and read all three pages of this. Great ammo for when Kerryites fire you up (like Kerry, they'll bug out if you make it hot for them).

David Thorne is Julia Thorne's twin brother. He remained tight with Kerry, even as Kerry forced a Catholic annulment on his sister. Sweet fella!

That's exactly why they're being so careful - to avoid a stretch that would damage their credibility.

They aren't taking any position, at this point, on the circumstances of the second Purple Heart. They have some evidence but not enough (and not verifiable enough) to call it a fraud. If additional information becomes available on it, they may change their position but, at least for now, they're holding fire on that award.

[JB's nephew] thinks Kerry has cheapened his grandfather's career in the armed services and minimized the medals his grandfather earned.

Never happen, Jack. Here's the deal: combat soldiers (and I guess, sailors and airmen) know, there are medals and there are medals. It's not in Kerry's power to steal the honor of a hero like Granddad -- not that that will prevent him from trying.

The best thing Neff can do, is find the vets groups that Granddad's wingmen, leaders, and squadron mates belong to (I'd start with the Red River Valley FIghter Pilots Ass'n in this case). Get himself a recorder that records for a long time, like an iPod with a microphone attachment, and go to one of their reunions.

The stories about granddad's personality will light up that kid in ways that the shadowbox of medals never will. Of course, they will also piss him off that he never got to know the guy, and you'll be running a real danger of him signing up.

But what the heck, unless Kerry wins we'll still have fighter planes and somebody's gotta fly the things.

If someone has the book, "The New Soldier," could they please type extensive excerpts? I would think the book should be "re-published" on the internet if that is the best we can do.
