ABC News (radio) announced that over 46,000 New York City residents were registered to vote in both their home district and also in the state of Florida. The anouncement mentioned that two-thirds (2/3) are registered Democrats.
They should be prosecuted whomever they are.
This story has been out for a while, but this is the first time anyone but Fox has been covering it.
My take? Kerry sees he is going to lose Florida, so is greasing the wheels the election is "unfair". Heck, if he can pull out an argument that favors the republicans it works just as well for him when he legally challenges the whole process. I think that is his plan.
I am expecting legal fireworks in Florida in November. Even if it isn't close, they have a PR stake in the "unfair Florida" myth.
How on earth did they get permission from the DNC to report this?
Bust em then... very publically.
Last week the number was 68,000. Next week the news story will be all anew with a grand total of 25,000 New York cross-voters. By November the numnber may be down into the manageable and negligble hundreds. If Jeb Bush doesn't do something about this he needs an enema.
IIRC from another thread that 10,000 of these people voted twice in 2000. Wouldn't it follow that Bush probably had a legitimate win margin of 3000+ votes in FL if that were true????
It's starting!
Does the number 537 ring a bell?
Sorry, I tried running a search to see if it was posted previously, didn't see one. The Administrator can ax this if there is a similar thread.
There was mention by some official in the radio news account about a penalty for being registered in two states.
I have heard that Michael Moore is double registerd in Michigan and NYC
This is probably the tip of the "iceberg" of illegal votes cast in elections. Investigations like this could well end that claim that algore won the "popular" vote.
The Department of Justice needs to make some examples out of these people.
Mr. Ashcroft it is time to "secure" our elections.
bttt
A number of West Virginia RAT politicians are under inditement for vote-buying as well.
I hope that these people are being purged from the voting lists.
The fact that ABC is reporting this story is certainly news and worthy of its own thread. I had only previously seen this in a Newsmax article.
I believe that completely. A lot of New Yorkers own homes here in Florida, and register to vote here so that they can evade the NY taxes by claiming they are Florida residents. Why they would also be registered to vote in NY, I can't say, but either way, they are skewing the vote here in Fla.
5 years in jail. A long time for old people!
Just think of all those poor, terribly confused Democrats who jst can't, for the life of them, figure out thsoe terribly confusing ballots in Florida.
Why, some of them might actually have voted for Pat Buchanan in 2000!
(/sarcasm)
Me too.........the fact that this is being reported on, tells me there has been an ongoing investigation. I would love to see a conspiracy to commit voter fraud by the DNC come to light right before the election.
Is it all bad?
I first saw this on a thread from NY Daily News....
Only 12% were Republicans.

If it is determined that 10,000 voted in both locations as noted in #8 above, not bothering to cancel voter registration appears rather nefarious.
Actually, the registrar (at least in Meriden, CT) is pretty quick on the rolls. I set up a post office box in the next town over and within less that a year I recieved a notice stating that it appeared I had moved and if I didn't sign and return a [post-paid] card, my registration would be canceled. At first I was pretty irritated, but in light of this story, I 'm not to upset with how they handle themselves here at least (I'm in a town with republican leadership though).
Quite an investigation will be required with a subpoena (sp?) of voter records in both states and then matching ID's in order to prove it.
Frankly such an investigation across all states is long overdue.....in my opinion.
Those voting twice, promptly prosecuted.
I'll stand by my original assertion, most double registration is innocent.
Most voter fraud occurs in other ways.
That's true in a lot of districts.
It just doesn't happen to be true in some democrat controlled districts.
St. Louis being a prime example.
I have a vague recollection that a certain midwestern college town had a lot of double-registered students. I want to say that it was Madison, WI (home of University of Wisconsin). A lot of college groups putting on these voter registration drives probably don't ask if the student is registered in his home district. This is probably very widespread.
According to the report 12% were registered as republicans.
The largest number by far was Democraps, followed by independants at somewhere around 28%. The other "named" parties were pretty miniscule in percentage because they are a very small portion of the voting population anyways.
Would probably fall under fraud in general.
At first glance, this is an excellent opportunity for Governor Pataki to check those who voted in NY against those who filed tax returns. Voting in NY implies you are a citizen...those who did not file tax returns are breaking the law.
probably leaked
I read this report a couple of days ago. It was from NY Daily News. 68% Democrat, 12% Republican and rest were Independents or other. Is anyone here really suprised at this.?
It was rumored in the 2000 election.
Don't worry about it - yes, it's been out for a few days (Brit Hume had it on the grapevine a few days ago) but ABC is the first I've heard of an alphabet big media picking it up.
So that in itself is news, for those of us aware of how many important stories stay buried because they might tell against Democrats.
When I was a Poll Watcher it was easy to see that some voters had multiple registrations within the same city and county. Some people move a lot and re-register each time at a new address. On election day they vote multiple times in different precincts and collect walking around money each time. They also register at the homes of family and friends. I don't know what the going rate is now, but in 2000 a guy in a union T-shirt walked up to our Poll Watcher in Houston and said, "OK, I voted. Now where'e my forty bucks?"
ping
"Re-defeat" Bush, my @$$
BUMP!
NOT. I would only be shocked if the Dems behaved themselves for once in their pathetic lives.
All prosecutors in Floridum are worried about is did Rush Limbaugh shop for Doctors.
Nonexistent SS number, invalid registration. SS number of dead individual, criminal investigation.
The only question is if can we build enogh prisons or work camps for the violators.
I see ... You raised this post from the dead. LOL
I will respectfully disagree. This vote fraud, 2/3 of which benefits the RATS, he does not want to bring to light. He will go after other areas, like felons who should be on the rolls.
Please Pass Emergency Anti-Vote Fraud Measure Immediately!
Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty
Please send the following message to your Congressmen and Senators:
Please pass, on an expedited basis, emergency legislation to require voters to show ID at all polling places on Election Day.
Vote fraud threatens the very core of our republic, and it directly threatens our sovereignty. There is a significant amount of evidence emerging that evinces a wide-spread plot to engage in massive voter fraud. Thus, Congress must take immediate action to counter this potential menace.
Congress has the express power to dictate the time, place, and manner in which federal elections are held. The congressional power to make or alter time, place, or manner of federal elections extends to the regulation of voter registration. Federal regulation of the electoral processes, including the regulation of federal voter registration, is also consistent with the Tenth Amendment and permissible; although states do have broad discretion to enact and implement registration procedures, states may not transgress the Constitution. It follows that state voter registration and Election Day statutes that are inconsistent with federal voter registration and Election Day mandates are preempted.
As per the Federal Court in Byrd v. Brice, the government may require a voter to furnish proof of identity at the polling place on Election Day. Such a measure would go a long way in protecting citizens federal voting rights from fraudulent practices.
Please set to work immediately on enacting emergency legislation to require a valid ID at the polling places on Election Day.
