"According to the library of Congress, New Soldier is 174 pages."

Perhaps someone out there in the Freeperland can get hold of a copy and PDF'ed the book into the Internet, preferably the FR.

We could download it and burn it in the CD. Make copies and sent them out!

What about the copyright aspect? Any legal beagle out there that can answer this?

I believe copyright could be a serious problem. Either the author has to explicitly give up copyright, making the work public domain... or he has to be dead for 50 (or is it now 75?) years. And while Kerry certainly looks like a walking corpse, I don't think it's been 50 years yet.

That said, I'd like to see a copy of the book (PDF would be fine) with the photos intact and in place. The PDF available listed above appears to have all the text, but no photos... it's gone from 174 pages down to about 60 or so... that's a lot.

"Fair use" policy only covers *excepts* of a work for review purposes. Sadly, I think they can zap you if Person A excerpts the first half of the book and Person B excepts the second half...
