Cleland told reporters after visiting the president's ranch that the Swift boat issue is causing veterans to relive Vietnam all over again.

What nonsense. All Kerry has been doing for the past year is trying to "relive Vietnam all over again"!

We're all supposed to relive Kerry's "heroic memories" version of Vietnam and forget any unpleasantness that may have been done or said...

BTW, I just noted on another thread:

I think the press asked some pretty good questions here, prompted in part by that letter the Bush camp came up with.

They did take note of the point made in the letter about all veterans who had served having the right to free speech.

Also Max Cleland had invoked John McCain's name and one reporter asked him why he thought John McCain had not said anything lately and was continuing to campaign with President Bush.

Max: sputter rant sputter "George Bush is mean!" sputter

LOL

That is EXACTLY the reference I was making.

Carl Cameron just reported on this Cleland trek, but first spoke of an appearance Kerry made at some event and someone in the audience handed him boxing gloves.

My! How "spontaneous" and what a "surprise" I'm sure that was . Why, that wouldn't have been a plant in the audience with a prop for the man who has promised to "fight". No, I'm sure this person just showed up with boxing gloves.

LOL

A friend of mine, a Lt. in the First Cavalry flying the UH1 during Nam, said: "UP THEIR &$$..."

I couldn't agree with him more :)

I had to check. Robin Olds is an ace. 13 kills in WWII and 4 in Vietnam. None in Korea. I stand corrected.

"...And Sam Johnson spent EIGHT YEARS in the Hanoi Hilton, during which I'm sure he got to hear Hanoi John's speeches several times as they were played during torture sessions.."

It's bad enough having to listen to the taped voice of Kerry's so called testimony a few dozen times. As a normally calm and basically nonviolent person, with the ability to turn off the torture at will, even I am driven to the point of breaking.

Sam and others like him truly deserve our gratitude.

"And, yes, he'd love to, but he's too busy."

Are you kidding? Kerry's afraid O'Neil will verbally kick his a$$ like he did in 1971. In fact, he's afraid to face any veteran who opposes him for the same reason...and also fear of bodily injury.

"Memo to Kerry camp - the next time you set up an ambush, don't tell the party to be ambused about it in advance."

Tells you a lot about how Kerry would wage the war on terror, doesn't it?

Yeah, what a concept -- free speech for all, even for those who oppose Kerry.

I'm shocked, reading this thread, at how abrupt and in-your-face the lame stream pressies were in some questions, almost acting like real reporters.

I think Cleland and Rassman are about to have their butts handed back to them... this thing is going to blow up in Kerry's face!

It seemed to hit Norah O'Donnell like a thunderbolt.

LOL

(To her credit she then tried to get Cleland and Rassman to answer to this)

"Big media is a lot more outraged about the one little Republican 527 than they are about the RAT 527's."

Carl Cameron of FoxNews calling the MSM Liberal Kerry-bootlickers the 'big media' LOL.

Yes, I was kidding. Kerry reminds me of an incident that happened in high school days.

The group I ran around with went in a burger joint one night. Two guys already there squared off for a minute or so. Shelton walked up to them, grabbed each with one hand. He told one "you're chicken" then looked at the other and said, "and you're glad." They both disappeared quickly.
