Cleland lost three limbs in an accident during a routine noncombat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends. He saw a grenade on the ground and picked it up. He could have done that at Fort Dix. In fact, Cleland could have dropped a grenade on his foot as a National Guardsman – or what Cleland sneeringly calls "weekend warriors." A bump for Old Max and his lost limbs.

"O.K. does this qualify for the Darwin Award?"

No, I believe he can still reproduce. The Darwin Award is only for acts which remove the perpetrator from the gene pool.

It has been reported by many democrats that he has done nothing but divide and shut out the dems...guess that's BS too!

They always say that whenever you fail to grovel at their feet.

Jerry Patterson, TX Land Commissioner, had a reply letter - he had to chase maxie down to give it to him - don't know if maxie took it.

The whole thing was silly. Gee, I have a letter I'd like to hand deliver to GWB, too. If I go down to Crawford and he doesn't see me personally will Chrissy Matthews put ME on "Hardball," too?! I don't think so.

It was NOT refused. The SS officer was ready to accept it but Cleland chose not to leave it. Then Cleland refused the letter from the Vets.

The Secret Service would not accept the letter.

The Bush people sent out Jerry Patterson to accept the letter and give Cleland one of their own and Cleland wouldn't exchange with Patterson.

I'm no expert in religion, and I do not claim to have knowledge of the great holy mysteries relating to God and humanity, but I'm pretty sure your going to hell for that one.

Just kidding, ROTFL
