As another new feature on Crushkerry.com we have decided to issue the Judge Elihu Smails Award every week.
Who? Judge Elihu Smails, the character in the film Caddyshack who asks of the obnoxious but lovable Al Czervick (played by Rodney Dangerfield), “good Lord, what has this buffoon done now?”
As a special tribute to Judge Smails, every week we will issue this award to the biggest buffoon of the week … the person who, through his or her actions or public statements, has made a buffoon of themselves and everyone associated with them. We also ask Kerry Crushers to send in your nominations (no limits, so keep them coming). All we ask is that you tell us why you’re nominating the person, and include a link to any relevant stories.
It is with a heavy heart that this week's winner of the Judge Smails Award goes to has been musical artist BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN We say this because Born To Run is perhaps one of the greatest rock albums ever, and the song Thunderoad one of the best songs of all time. However we must look past this greatness (which hasn't been repeated since 1980 - and don't give us Born In The USA which was pure drivel) and bestow the honor on him this week.
Why? Well for one he has teamed with fellow anti-Americans The Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam (another once-great band) and REM to raise money for the George Soros backed Americans Coming Together who have spread the most vile lies about the President in recent memory.
Further anyone who has followed Bruce over the years knows that his claim of "never getting involved in politics before" is an outright lie.
Further, his ignorant statements on the Iraq war and other issues are simply too stupid to be ignored. We would think that a guy who built his career on being a "Jersey guy" would realize that we needed to do all we could to prevent another 9/11, in which a disproportionate number of NJ residents were killed. But alas, Bruce has not taken the good advice of Laura Ingraham to "Shut Up and Sing".
And although we like his old stuff, Bruce earned the Smails Award the old fashioned way - he earned it.
