The Current Crisis, Judgment and Character
The American Spectator ^ | 8/26/2004 | Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.

WASHINGTON -- Is it not curious that in major media there is not a trace of humor or even irony perceptible in the hullabaloo over Senator John Kerry's latest self-inflicted wound, to wit: the controversy over his Vietnam record? Oh, one fellow has shown a proper sense of the absurdity of it all...snip

For that matter there has not been all that much talk about Kerry's mendacity, though he has been caught in petty lies since the primaries, lies that contribute to the perception that Kerry is a man of very poor judgment.

There was his early lie that he never made an issue about being Irish. Then there was his lie to feminists that his first speech in Congress was in support of abortion rights. In both instances fact checkers exposed him. Then there was the imbroglio over his skiing exploits where he denied that he suffers the occasional mishap while skiing. At a Colorado ski resort in his boastful (and vengeful) mode Kerry claimed, "I don't fall down. That son of a bitch ran into me." From his bruised gluteus maximus he pointed to an embarrassed member of his Secret Service detail. His falls were a matter of record. And forget not the dispute over his claim that "foreign leaders" told him they endorsed his presidency, though his travel records revealed his claim to be preposterous. Since then Kerry has been caught lying about the vehicles he owns. He has been ensnared in lies about policy and legislation. There have been other scrapes, schedules revised for $100 haircuts, scrapes where he has been overheard calling the Bush Administration "crooked." And now we have all his conjurings with his Vietnam record and the records of his combat critics.

There are a lot of good talking points (non-Vietnam) to be mined from this article if someone (not me) would put them in place date context. They are significant because they will shore up the credibility arguments created by the Vietnam-SwiftVet issues

It's the Kerry voting record as well as his character.

HE SAID CHECK THE RECORD
Sen. John Kerry, Democrat from Massachusetts says he is the strongest Presidential Candidate on National Defense! He said Check the Record..

We Did!!
and
Here is what we learned:

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle
He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the F117
He voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988, including a bill for battle armor for our troops.

It is most likely, with Sen. John Kerry as President and Commander in Chief of our Armed Services, that they will cease to function making it impossible for our country to protect itself John Kerry voted to kill all anti-terrorism activities of each and every agency of the U.S. Government.

He voted to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%.
He voted to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%.
He voted to cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.
THEN, and this is abhorrent to almost every American Voter be you Democrat, Republican or Independent, he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800% !!

Ask yourself Is THIS the person you want as President of these United States providing for the Common Defense of the Nation and be the Leader of the Free World ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Voting history can be accessed through Senate voting records. The above is an accurate summary.
Now consider this:
"Americans for Democratic Action, a group proud to call itself liberal rated Kerry’s percentage of liberal votes for the past ten years as follows:
1994-95%, 1995-95%, 1996-95%, 1997-95%, 1998-95%, 1999-95%, 2000-90%, 2002-85%, 2003 85%.
At the other end of the spectrum, the American Conservative Union rated Kerry as follows:
1994-0%, 1995-4%, 1996-5%, 1997-0%, 1998-4%, 1999-0%, 200-12%, 2001-4%, 2002-0%, 200313%.
National Journal, respected as a non-partisan and non-ideological by people on both ends of the political spectrum – has analyzed Kerry’s voting record for 2003 and found that he has compiled a liberal score of 96.5% - the highest in the Senate – higher than that of Teddy Kennedy (88.2%). Barbara Boxer (91.2%). Paul Sarbanes (94.7%). Tom Harkin (89.3%), and any other liberal Democratic senator you could name."
John Kerry is and has always been a liberal/socialist democrat/Internationalist – his way for America is not for America & Americans, it is for Socialism period.
The Kerry Vietnam record for 4 months +3 weeks is questionable from the get go – however, his senate voting record is positively abominable and shows his utter distain for National Security, he is anti-American - pro-Socialism for outsourcing to/for special interests. Keep his senate voting record on FR front page! Send it out in e-mails – all of these percentages can be checked for accuracy through the Senate voting records.
JOHN KERRY IS TRULY UNFIT TO LEAD THIS NATION
My favorite passage:
"The more important question is not his veracity but his judgment, and that word has not even been mentioned in the media's debate. For that matter there has not been all that much talk about Kerry's mendacity, though he has been caught in petty lies since the primaries, lies that contribute to the perception that Kerry is a man of very poor judgment."
