This is why tax day should fall during the week before elections. The most prominent bumper sticker slogan for the Fair Tax so far has been "April 15 - Make It Just Another Day!" Under the Fair Tax, we would have no single tax due date. We would pay the tax each time we consume, including the day of the election. I've had that bumper sticker inside my car's rear window for several years now. If and when we re-elect our great President, we can move forward with confidence towards enacting the Fair Tax.

Just exactly what does a duck DO to a June bug? Best I understand, the bug is gobbled (not googled; that's different), but the duck is just about as fast as Google in getting it done.

With the Fair Tax, you can reduce your taxes by being a smart shopper. By only what you need and keep your taxes low. Buy used products and pay no taxes.

You're right that repeal of the 16th Amendment must itself be an amendment to the Constitution. That begins by the amendment being passed by Congress and then being ratified by the States. The amendment must be passed by two-thirds of each house of Congress.

You are forgetting the one source of power that trumps the tax code as a source of power - the ballot box.

I forgot nothing. If your proposal EVER gets anywhere near a ballot box you will have your plebiscite. Right now, it ain't on the radar screen.
