BILL Clinton described himself as a "cheerleader for peace" when he and his wife Hillary visited the North yesterday.
The former US president met political leaders and said he was encouraged about the prospects of the devolution process starting again.
Mr Clinton also claimed that, if John Kerry were elected president, he would be "far more likely to be heavily involved" in the North's politics than George Bush.
Gerry Adams said Sinn Fein had impressed on Mr Clinton its determination to approach next month's political talks positively and constructively.
DUP deputy leader Peter Robinson told Mr Clinton his party was ready for a deal but said it was important balance was achieved.
David Trimble, the UUP leader, said Mr Clinton was aware of the many triumphs society in the North had experienced in recent years but there were still difficulties because of the failure of paramilitary groups to deliver on promises.
In a speech at a women's conference, Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton said Northern Ireland politicians could inspire others around the world by taking the peace process forward.
The Clintons visited Belfast and Derry and will be in Enniskillen today. Mr Clinton will be presented with two Fermanagh GAA shirts ahead of tomorrow's All-Ireland semi-final replay.

In other words, Mr. Clinton has a bag of goodies full of the missing disks from Los Alamos he's just waiting for an official go ahead to hand over to the communists.

Mr Clinton also claimed that, if John Kerry were elected president, he would be "far more likely to be heavily involved" in the North's politics than George Bush. And far less likely to be heavily involved in the middle east where the intrests of the U.S are at stake.
This should surprise no one due to the fact that Dems always like to get involved where our intrests are not threatened.

You don't have to apologize.

When is the last time anyone said "Boy those cheer leaders made all the difference, without them we probably would not have won."
I don't remember anytime either, Cheerleaders, nice to look at, but ultimately useless to the outcome of a game.
Bill Clinton, useless to the war on terror in office and out, but nice for the democratic party to look at I suppose.
I think he finally nailed his legacy, it's first thing I have heard him say in a long stretchthat I could agre with, I must say
