Police and FSB agents are investigating the role two Chechen women who boarded the planes that crashed in south Russia Tuesday may have had in possible explosions. Experts, meanwhile, cite evidence of small blasts at the rear of the planes.
According to the Kommersant daily, the FSB has contacted regional Chechen police about S. Dzhebirkhanova, who boarded the Tu-154 and sat in the tail end, and Amanta Nagayeva, who boarded the Tu-134.
Both women had apparently registered for the flights without giving their passport information, Kommersant reports, citing sources in the Sibir and VolgoAviaExpress airlines. No family members have contacted the airlines about either of them.
This comes in the wake of announcements that the flight recorders were unable to provide significant information, increasing suspicion among Russians that the crashes were terrorist acts.
Meanwhile, the main cause behind the disaster all the same remains terrorism, the Itar-Tass news agency quoted Vladimir Yakovlev, the Russian presidents envoy for the southern region, as saying Thursday.
Yakovlev told First Channel television that the recorders turned off immediately this is probably the main affirmation that something happened very fast.
The Tu-134, which crashed near Tula, had sent a hijack alert, while the Tu-154, which crashed in the Rostov region, sent an SOS signal.
Citing experts close to the commission investigating the catastrophe, Gazeta reported that the lamp and paneling near the toilet of the Tu-154 was torn out, pointing to a small blast. This was near where Dzhebirkhanova had reportedly been issued a seat.
In both crashes, the tail end of the plane ended up far ahead of the nose, which, experts say, could only have happened as a result of a blast. If the plane had simply broken up in mid-air, the parts would have landed nearby.
Explosives the size of a bar of soap would be enough to cause the blasts, Gazeta reports, citing experts.
The two planes, which both departed Tuesday evening from Moscows Domodedovo airport, were on their way to Volgograd and Sochi, respectively. At least 90 people were killed when they crashed minutes apart.
The crashes came just five days ahead of presidential elections in breakaway Chechnya Sunday.
Sounds like what happened, doesn't it?
What an awful job that would be. Imagine the horors that would be false positives. Ugh!

"No muslim women to be allowed aboard any aircraft without full body cavity searches."
Thanks a lot! That'll give me nightmares. Typically, my nightmares consist of showing up for class for the first time on the day of the final exam. Now, I'll dream that I'm a TSA-trained cavity search specialist!

The preliminary results of the investigation of the crash of TU-134 and TU-154 gave the grounds to say that acts of terrorism took place.
The pilots of both the planes gave SOS signals, the damages of both the planes were identical - their tails were torn in the air, and there were females whose relatives have no interest to their destiny, on both the planes...
The Gazeta obtained the details of the preliminary investigation results of the planes crash.
It was detected that shortly before the catastrophes, the pilots of both the planes pressed the alarm buttons. TU-154 which crashed in Rostov region, sent SOS signal, while Tu-134 which fell in Tula region, managed to put on the air the signal, "Attack on the plane".
privacy.......and........'prime location' for destabilization of aircraft.....

"...my nightmares consist of showing up for class for the first time on the day of the final exam."
Oh, you have that one, too?
Yes. I know others who do, too. Seems to be pretty common!
That's pretty common, but I can never find the exam room because I haven't been to any classes.
Good heavens
