...of which I am a proud (armed) member. I would urge people to contact their local law enforcement agency rather than starting a separate program and trying to make the police department accept it. I never thought of myself as a law enforcement volunteer, but after joining up and being trained and working some details, I almost wish I had gone into full time law enforcement many years ago. It is very rewarding and lots of fun.

There are enough former veterans around that we could easily staff a gigantic force of volunteers if we really wanted to. The lefties would cry about "vigilantes" or whatever. Let 'em whine.
