Hmmm. If there really was an active group of homosexuals looking out for abused persons, don't you think that they would run PSAs about physical abuse that goes on in same sex partner relationships? Butch women can hit too.
One case they could have made higher profile was the abuse suffered by the man who called the cops on the phony "assault" what became known as the Texas sodomy law case. He was a lover/roommate of one of the men. He also had a history of filing assault charges against that man. Criminal proceedings were underway when the abused man was murdered at night (on the street?). It is an unsolved crime and the only place I ever found out about it was on the Houston Police Department's website when I googled the third man's name (some articles originally got it wrong, unless he had an alias, both were 3 word names).
I have only seen a little bit of press about the abuse in that relationship and nothing in print about his murder.
