They can knock down the institutions of marriage and organized religion with issue. When same sex marriages are legalized, you know that pressure will be brought to bear against churches that refuse to perform such ceremonies or accept such non-repentent sinners as church members (not so much as deny them entrance to the church as deny them membership).
