Max Cleland lost two legs and a hand in Vietnam because he was screwing around with a live grenade. I've heard he was drunk on Budweiser at the time but I'm not sure about that. What I am sure about is this: He did not receive a Purple Heart for his injuries because he was not under enemy fire at the time.
Max Cleland is living proof that liberals will exploit any- and everything for their cause...even the loss of two legs and hand. While I am sympathetic to Cleland for the loss of his limbs I think it's disgusting that the man has so little shame he allows himself to be described as a hero when real heroes don't get the time of day.
He should be ashamed of himself but I've always said to liberals the end justifies the means.
At that price they could throw in M Moores cap. I am sure it is stained with the same DNA.

Max deserves a medal for stupidity, and is no war hero. He is still angry and hate-filled due too his accident with a hand grenade. I am disabled myself, but one must remember when God closes a door he sometimes opens a window. Max needs to concentrate on the positive things in life and not be drug down with the naval exchange hero. I think the appropriate title for cleland is, "Mad Max Tripping In The Kerry-Dome."
