I have a carry permit and I always bring a pistol when I fish. I have a stainless 357 I keep just for this.

I agree. It's not the chili etc that they want. It's the boat. We have a friend in the INS in FLA and he was telling us that drug runners use stolen boats to do their "running" and then sink them after they're done.

A Lot of boaters carry machine guns?! Fishing?

No, pirates. And I'm not being funny. Piracy is alive and well. In the Carribean, in the Med and most especially in the Western Pacific and Indian oceans.

I may be wrong but I think that NY is one of only a few states that forbids Title II permits to persons or corporations

You are correct. From the NRA-ILA

(In New York state)
It is a felony for any person to manufacture, transport, or dispose of a machine gun. It is a felony to buy, receive, dispose or conceal a machine gun which has been defaced for the purpose of concealment.

The presence in any room, dwelling, structure or vehicle of any machine gun is presumptive evidence of unlawful possession by all persons occupying the place where the machine gun is found.

The media doesn't exactly know a machine gun from a semi-auto now do they?

No but the coasties do. If they called it a machine gun, it probably was. I'm betting they didn't, because they'd probably just call it a "Full auto" AK-47 or an "assault rifle", rather than a machine gun.

Thank heavens he wasn't caught with a SNIPER RIFLE!

Oh don't worry, by the end of the day, the .30 caliber will become one, in certain circles anyway.

Don't deny that any of our guys don't know what they are talking about. It's the correct translation that always seems to come out wrong.
