He was so informed and rational in dealing with Ron Reagan and DeeDee "We Tried!" Myers on the healthcare issue. He is interested in healthcare, and said the prescription drug bill existed now--and Ron Reagan obviously had no freaking idea what he was talking about. Silver said "There wasn't one before, but there is now. It's a step in the right direction."
I happen to be against this bill, but it was awesome to see someone who actually knew what he was talking about engaging with these two dopes. If an intelligent, original thought ever enters DeeDee Myeres' head it's sure to die of loneliness in there. I mean, why is she considered worthy of TV time?
Ron Reagan is embarassing. I don't give a damn about his politics, he's just silly and uninformed and running on some liberal adrenaline.
Joe Scarborough is incredibly unimpressive. Mike Barnacle can't go ten hours without whining, "Why are we talking about Swift boats when there's a war on?" Barnicle trashes the Swift vets constantly, never dares give a thought to the wieght of their charges--he's decided Kerry is a hero and that's that.
All in all, that gang on MSNBC are a pathetic lot.
Did you hear Mike Barnicle saying that he was in a bar in Queens and the people reacted quite differently than cynical pols...they were weeping etc. Barnicle said...he thought Kerry got the 'pins' knocked out of him today. Dede was trying to spin as she always does. He looked at her as if she was a fool which she is of course.
He must go mad in Hollyweird.
Ronnie is her golden boy, her baby, the one she loves so much. Must be so hard being Nancy...
Ron Silver wasn't in Die Hard. I think you mean Alan Rickman.
Ron Silver was in Ali, Timecop, The Arrival, Silkwood, Reveral of Fortune.
But he supports abortion as do other rinos. He is OK and thanks - but it all goes back to abortion. He is ok with it. Think about it.
Coming from Barnicle that's huge.
You have my all-time favorite FR name. I tell everyone about you. Luv, luv, luv.
PS: Ron Silver is no conservative. He will tell anyone who'll listen that he's a liberal Democrat. But he is HUGELY supportive of Bush on the war and all foreign policy.
I agree. I was watching Mike Barnacle on MSDNC(misspelling on purpose) he said he watched the convention from a bar in queens and he said that whole bar of approximately 75 Queens New York natives were crying and clapping, he thinks, or I received the impression that tonight was a homerun and played well in every livingroom and bar that watched it.
It seems to me by watching some of the nitpicking and stuff tonight that the Dems have to tread real lightly on the 911 for political gain argument, they might just find out how cold it is in January.
Compared to the dems first night, which I begrudgedly gave a B to a B+, I give tonights RNC a -A to a A, there was meat in it enough for the media to try and strangle this baby, but the babys neck has a steel ring protecting it.
Kerry was a Pinata tonight, Three more nights of this and the stuffing will be beaten out of him and all over the floor :-)
To me, it was as if Ron Silver was talking to himself. Absolutely unfortunate.
Yes, we can never forget that he is not a conservative. On the other hand, I'm grateful for every soldier in this war -- and it's not just a war on terror, even though Silver (for now, anyway) may think it is.
I want the Republicans to always have solid across-the-board conservative leadership: Pres, Veep, congressional leaders, but in states like California and New York, we have to settle for one or two legs of the conservative stool, and be grateful. We don't need to make these guys party leaders: we can just give them cushy, harmless cabinet jobs under conservative Republican Presidents.
He ain't running for nothing. He's an actor. A Democrat actor.
Ron Silver believes so much in what President Bush is doing in regards to the WOT, that he speaks at a pro-war rally's and I happen to see one such rally in Washington on CSPAN. He spoke along with the likes of Major Bob Bevelacqua. Firing up the huge crowd that was assembled on the Mall.
Actually, I thought that his speech played pretty well with the crowd. It was short and sweet and he had very good applause lines. Silver, and I hate to say this, actually has a fairly firm grasp of some foreign policy issues and his work with CFR makes this a credible position for him.
I almost fell off the sofa. Mike seemed much less partisan tonight. His analysis was quite good. I don't say that because I like what he said...but he made sense. He debated in a civil way and didn't go off the deep end as he is prone to do. He made myers look like a mental midget. Lord I know that woman slept with Bill to get her job. There can be no other explanation! LOL
He believes in vouchers, social security reform and other Repub ideas...he is a Rino, but by God I think he is a Republican. He may not know it yet. He talked about how disappointed he was in the Democratic party after 9-11...I understand I used to be a Democrat.
Mike said he thought tonight knocked the pins out from under Kerry. He said Kerry was in trouble. I really don't think (no evidence) that Mike like Kerry much-just an opinion.
