Ron Silver
RNC Convention | 8-31-04 | my favorite headache

Posted on 08/30/2004 9:31:54 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

Ron Silver...WOW. I never thought I would be impressed by this man and he blew me away tonight with his passion for W.

I just wish the crowd had the same feelings back as well as some of the other stuffed shirt Republicans out there. I know he is a lib and will probably go back to being so after this election but for now...the guy deserves some applause from us.

Good solid speech and motivating. Should have had him on a bit later in the evening imo. To me the crowd just seems so out of it. Too much partying in NYC and constantly on the friggin cell phones!

One of the best political speeches of my lifetime. He wasn't afraid to say what needed to be said.

I was equally impressed. he is an authentic hollywood liberal that is voting for GWB -- despite his disagreement with W on virtually every social issue on the GOP agenda -- because of international terrorism. VERY STRONG statement. much better than that goofy damn baldwin kid, who was actually embarrassing.

It's people like Mr. Silver who will be instrumental in reelecting President Bush.

Unfortunately it felt watching it from home that his passion was wasted on a crowd that was too busy walking around and talking on phones. We really looked dead out there on the floor tonight.

What made Ron Silver's remarks so impressive tonight was the passion he put into each sentence. The whole night was a home run IMHO

This is how it used to be. When you are at war, both sides of the aisle want your country to win. The RAT bastard party care more about their own power than they do about America.

Glad to see him come around. I met him several years ago in Dallas at a luncheon. All was going well till I asked him what gel he used in his hair. He didn't want to give it up.

what was with the creepy blue lighting on the audience, especially during the mccain speech? Or is my TV about to go on the blink?

This is a growing trend amongst the ranks of lib Dems. Many of them a realizing how FAR TO THE LEFT AND RADICAL the core of the party is and do not believe in it anymore.

I hope this is an omen for the future. Hello Miller, Hello Silver....

I guess that makes Ron a "Zell Miller" Democrat.

As well as Ed Koch,Zell Miller, and a few others. Oh how nice...Stephen Baldwin just said he would vote for Kerry if Kerry did every decision in his life by God. He wouldn't come out and endorse Bush.

Maybe someday we wont have to worry for the defense of the United States just because a Democrat is President. Its heartening to see that there are lefties that worry too.

Ron Silver Reminds me of my youth...before I had children and became a "right wing extremist". He is socially liberal but believes in a strong national defense and foreign policy. Eventually, he will come to terms with the fact that one can not have a strong nation in foreign policy when we have a weak nation dominated by liberalism at home.

Yes Ron..."those our our jets now"...pounding Falluja at will.

Silver is way cool. JRD and I always seek him out at Oscar parties and premieres...though he probably won't be invited after tonight.

Fun Fact: He says he was involved in international policy and was a member of the CFR before he ever got into show biz. His brain is huge. We're careful not to discuss social issues.

When the three family members who lost someone on 9/11 and then Amazing Grace was sung we looked alive. Ditto McCain and Rudy.
