Twenty-one years old and fresh out of college in 1971, draft board nipping at my heels, I went in the Air Force and eventually spent two years in Berlin while the 'Nam War wound down. Rangel would say I'm no vet either. I would say he's entitled to his opinion, but I went where they sent me. How many people did something like what I did? Millions. Rangel just told all of us we aren't really vets at all. We aren't combat vets, maybe, but we served.

I would say he's entitled to his opinion, but I went where they sent me. How many people did something like what I did? Millions. Me too. Panama, Gulf War, Somalia, Haiti...All that happened while I was in, but Inever got anywhere near any of it. And I only volunteered for the Gulf War because I was one of two guys in my shop who weren't married, otherwise I just would have accepted the luck of the draw. I would have gone to any of those hellholes if they'd sent me, but they never did.

(If the Cambodia "lie" 100% discredits John O'Neill, what do several Cambodia lies do for Kerry?)
