Yes, it IS wrong, but I feel the same way! Actually, I was almost hoping he would get a reception more along the lines of the scene from Pulp Fiction where Ving Rhames gets the "treatment" from those pervs. Of course, that wouldn't be very Christian of me, now would it?

Nothing wrong about it. On a deeply personal level, I believe in an Eye for an Eye. It has little to do with the police vs. the civilian. It has to do with the individual.
This disgusting lunkhead beat the cop into unconciousness, and the cop should be given the opportunity to even up the score, but not to kill him (which would be excessive, as the cop still lives).
