PALESTINIANS HUG BUS BOMBERS
IMRA ^ | September 1, 2004 | MICHAEL WIDLANSKI

The Palestinian state broadcast media today (Wednesday) embraced the two terrorists who blew themselves up on two Israeli buses, killing 16 people, bestowing on them the titles "martyr" (shahid) and "citizen" (muwatin).

The Arabic language broadcasts of Yasser Arafat's Voice of Palestine condemned Israeli Army's "destruction of the home of martyr Ahmad Kawasmeh who carried out an explosive attack yesterday" as well as "the destruction of the home of Citizen Muhammad Ali Ja'abari by dint of charges that he carried out the explosive attack in Beersheba yesterday."

"The destruction here is amazing and shocking," declared Voice of Palestine's correspondent Salem Abu-Saleh, reporting from Hebron, where both suicide bombers lived. Abu-Saleh's emotional descriptions of what he called barbaric Israeli actions were featured throughout the morning and afternoon broadcasts.

But the Arabic language broadcasts featured no condemnation of the attacks inside Israel that left more than 90 people wounded along with the 16 murdered, the youngest of whom was apparently a four-year old girl.

Indeed, leading Palestinian officials made no attempt to hide their satisfaction at the failure to stop the two Arab bombers, particularly chief Palestinian negotiator Dr. Saeb Arikat.

"Not building settlements or fences," said Arikat, "is going to bring them peace."

"What is your answer to what the Israelis call terror?," a VOP interviewer asked the Palestinian negotiator who is very close to Palestinian leader Arafat.

"We say the international community has to put pressure on Israel to withdraw to the June 4 lines. That's the only solution."

I wish they'd embrace the bombers while they're blowing up.

Saddam Hussein will NOT be paying the $25,000 bounty to each of their families though, thanks to GWB.

True. But Iran does it now. $50,000 a piece. However, the US sends financial aid to the Palestinian Authority which harbors and supports these terror groups, as does most of the world, with millions of dollars each year.

Yeah...but will they SOUND like her. I just had to mute FNC because her voice and speaking style were even more obnoxious than her personality and what she was saying...and that's not easily achieved.

As little as 4 years ago i'd be shaking my head in disgust.

Today, I feel we'll get these SOB's sooner rather than later, but we'll get 'em either way.

But, if it ain't right now, we're taking too long!!

Shalom

"Not building settlements or fences," said Arikat, "is going to bring them peace."

On the contrary. A completed wall would likely have prevented this atrocity. The incident only supplies even greater motivation for the Israelis to build the wall faster, to keep these creatures out of their country forever.
