Uh-huh. Right. Whatever. Just hurry up and finishing "describing" me those fries I ordered, okay, Minimum Wage...? :)
The lovely, the talented, Ms. Gina Young. |
Further proof Rush Limbaugh is right...
Most jurisdictions have sanitary laws that would likely restrict the employment of this female in the area of food handling. However, she might be able to operate the cash register. Many fast food cash registers use pictographs, so a lack of literacy is no problem. (Counting out the proper change may be a problem, though.)
What a kook.

Venus: Tell me a little bit about the newest play you worked on.
Gina Young: It was called phone|sex|cancer and was about a 17-year-old girl who is coming out as a dyke while her mom is diagnosed with breast cancer and her girlfriend is transitioning female-to-male.
The entire cast and crew was comprised of young queer grrrls-- two high school students played creepy cute fairies that function like the greek chorus. There is an all-girl punk band on stage throughout the show. We had a three week performance run off-off Broadway at the WOW Cafe Theater, which is the world's oldest continually-running women's theater.
V: How did you get involved in playwriting?
G: I got involved in playwriting out of sheer pissed-offedness at the sorry state of theater these days. What I found most inspiring when I studied acting was the sheer LACK of good material. Where are the roles for women? I mean, roles that aren't two-dimensional bitches or prostitutes? (not that there's anything wrong with being a bitchy prostitute, but
the vast majority of plays weren't written BY sex workers themselves, which would be infinitely more interesting--you know what I mean?) So yeah, I kind of started writing
plays by accident because we need more substance out there.
