I know exactly what you mean. I have been fortunate a couple times in my life to have such friendships. Pres.Bush was extolled in 1999 and 2000 by some FReepers here I trusted. I am so grateful to them ... though I was very skeptical of their almost blind allegiance to him. Now I understand why.

At the beginning of his speech when Bush honored and thanked Cheney, Cheney looked like he could've cried. I just thought of two warriors covering each others' backs. It was touching.
