Richard,if you believe that your state conventions are boring, banal, shallow, whatever,YOU don't belong there."GLAD HANDING" is the way things get done. You've just proved that you neither understand nor really know what politics is and isn't.It has ALWAYS been like this. You have some weird, convoluted, childish perception of things.

And there hasn't been a politician,in the history of this nation, nor,I'd venture to say,any other nation in the history of the world, who didn't make promises;most of which were undeliverable. It just might help you,to do some research on this matter, not excluding just how much this president HAS fulfilled many of the promises he made at the last GOP Convention! :-)

Go to LP,FU,or whatever other site would suit you, because FR most assuredly is NOT where YOU belong.

This is REAL life,it isn't some UTOPIA,where all the things YOU imagine should be,is.And guess what? IT NEVER WAS !

There are HUGE differences between the GOP and the Dems;you just appear to be incapable of seeing it.And your blinkered views don't give you a pass on hanging crepe all over this or any other HAPPY thread.

You may think that everyone else here is beneath your high opinion of your own self;however, that is just NOT the case. Many of us are far MORE knowledgeable about politics and history than you'll ever be.And yes, this IS a slap-down that you have been begging for...enjoy it. :^)

Yaaawn, not impressed with your diatribe.

You are free to have your opinion, I am free to have mine.

Too bad you don't understand that, I guess honest disagreement is too much for you.

My original post was a short note on my honest immediate reaction to the speech, but according to YOU no one is ALLOWED to be disappointed with a Bush speech!

The party can continue frustrating the delegates with insincere dog and pony shows if they wish, I don't control that, and neither do you.

But if they continue on that road the party hiarchy should stop complaining, and asking why it is that each convention has fewer in attendance than the last!

It has become my belief that the current clear efforts to force a "moderate, centrist" position are weakening the party.

I am young enough that time will tell if I am right, in fact we will see some clear indication in November, and more at the midterm elections of 2006.

Thanks for your attack, at least it proves some one read the post.
