Good point however, I personally do not believe the social repercussions would be anywhere as bad as they are now. The war on drugs has done more damage to the US than and other single problem. Because of TWOD cops can search your home or car at will and they do not even need a warrant. Cops can take any of your personal property any time they wish, they do not even have to charge you with a crime. Then you have to go to court and prove you did not get the property through illegal means. The last figure I saw said the the DEA spends 700 million a year.
The average crack junkie needs $300 to $1000.00 per day to support their habit. If it only cost $10.00 and they could get it at the store they would not have to engage in criminal activities to pay for their habit. Well not near as much anyway.
I really do not see how it could make it worse.

Because if drug legalization happened today, it would creat a huge social program that taxpayers cover. This is not a libertarian utpoia.
