How many of these 'Republicans' were members of the 7th Cavalry back at Little Big Horn? George Custer, anyone?
Though I have lived in Southern Illinois my whole life, I have told my family I want to buried in Cook County. I want to stay active in elective politics.
and about 3,695 of them are LIARS
If little tommy were on fire I wouldn't pee on him to put the fire out.
Daschle is the result of dog feces and a blow fly mating. A little twerp down on his knees for dessert.Bush/Cheney 2004
Dasshole is probably saying, "I know I can raise a few more votes in my favor." Bush/Cheney 2004
Two years ago, there were many here who were livid about Thune's decision to not contest the result of the election - claiming fraud. If he had done so, there is no way he would be in the position he is today. Very wise political decision.

That is the best reply I've heard in some time. You made my day!
Does anyone remember how Daschle blocked the passage of a bill that would authorize polling places on domestic military installations back in 2000?
It would also have eased obstacles some service members face in absentee balloting.
The decision not to contest was made at the highest levels of the party, you can be sure. In this particular situation, even at the time, I knew that not contesting the election would work to our advantage, but only if Thune could be persuaded to take on Daschle. I'm ever so grateful to him for doing so. Think of how much sympathy factor the Dems would have gotten if they had just thrown in the towel in Florida and said, "sure, you win" while strongly implying that they didn't believe it for a minute. By making a big deal out of it, the anger they stirred up against them balanced out any motivation it has given their own faithful.
I think the anger felt was not so much about that one race in particular as it was and is about the GOP's apparent general unwillingness to develop a viable long-term legal and political strategy for dealing with voter fraud.
I've got to admit that I'm frustrated with this myself.
The nice thing about this Daschle race is that even if he wins, it will be so narrow that it will wound him deeply, and he won't survive the next race, if he tries at all in 2010. It is also sucking a lot of money into what should be a safe seat for the Dems -- Daschle had spent 7 million before Thune practically had spent a dime, and has gotten little or nothing for it. That can't make his handlers happy!
mark for reference.
Actually, I was joking. The emphasis was intended to be on the lack of people in SD, not on the poll numbers. I'll probably be sending Thune a contribution in two weeks after the assault weapons ban actually expires on the 13th - I've been refusing to donate to anyone until I can be sure the pubs wouldn't cave on that issue.
Yeah, I saw the GOP poll. But I took that as confirmation of the other independent polls, which show a small Dasshole lead. I certainly have seen nothing to indicate a 10-point Thune lead.
