Yes, but FOX had an analyist on that said the economists were expecting 150,000 jobs to be added.
150k is the amount of jobs that need to be created just to absorb new people entering the workforce.

Given that the unemployment RATE has dropped during the last year, it is apparent that more than 150,000 jobs have been created per month. This survey of manufacturers is not accounting for all the work being done - it includes only large firm's jobs. That is the bottom line is that 5.4% is lower than last year - and that means more jobs are being done compared to new people entering the workforce.
