10 Arabs among 20 militants killed in southern Russia

BESLAN, Russia: Ten Arabs are among 20 militants killed following the hostage siege in southern Russia, an FSB security service official said on Friday.

"Among the 20 terrorists killed, there are 10 citizens of the Arab world," Valery Andreyev, the top regional security official, said on national television.

More than 100 people were reportedly killed and hundreds wounded Friday as Russian special forces stormed a school to free scores of children and adults held hostage for almost three days by militants demanding independence for Chechnya.

Tass quoted a source in the regional Interior Ministry as saying the school seizure had been planned by Shamil Basayev, Russia's most wanted Chechen rebel, and was led by field commander Magomet Yevloyev. The source said there was information it was financed by Abu Omar As-Seyf, who was believed to be Al-Qaeda's representative in Chechnya.

By early evening Friday, Russian troops were still fighting to free hostages from the school in North Ossetia, said the top local security official for the southern Russian region, Valery Andreyev.

Andreyev said authorities had identified the bodies of 60 victims in the first official toll of the day's bloody events.

But the Interfax news agency said over 100 corpses of hostages - some 1,000 were reported taken - were found in the school gymnasium. - Agencies

If Sen. Kerry is elected, we can expect tragedies like this in America.

We can expect tragedies like this here in America regardless of who the CIC is. The difference is that I expect Dubya to respond more appropriately.

"If Sen. Kerry is elected, we can expect tragedies like this in America."

We can expect them anyway. Anyone who does not own a firearm is "meat" for Islamacist terrorists.

Always remember, the police cannot protect you; only you can protect yourselves and your family.

Matters have come to such a pass that I believe that sooner or later we will all have to pull a firearm off the wall (or wherever!) and begin to kill these people.

Fight them here or die.

Regards,

I wonder how Pat Buchanan will explain this. How will he figure a way to blame this on Israel?

How will he figure a way to blame it on Bush?

A charity for the victims:

http://www.moscowhelp.org

MISSION STATEMENT - BESLAN

THE FUND'S GOAL IS TO HELP THE CHILDREN AFFECTED BY THE TERRORIST ACT IN BESLAN
The complete fallout of the terror act in Beslan is not yet clear. What is clear is that this is the worst terror-related human catastrophe in the history of Russia. As of now, media reports indicate at least 150 victims who already died as a direct result of this terrorist act, and over 600 victims, mainly children, have been taken to local hospitals, a large number of them with very serious injuries.

The Foundation was originally established in 2002 to raise personal and corporate charitable donations to help families of the Nord-Ost terror victims. That project was successfully completed with all donations fully distributed.

On September 11, 2001, Russian people and the whole world stood by the people of the United States, Canada, and all other countries whose citizens became victims of that unprecedented terrorist attack.

The Beslan hostage crisis is an example of the same type of terrorism that has perpetrated the September 11 attack. In terms of the number of people involved and the worldwide attention and solidarity, the Beslan siege can in many ways be compared to the major attacks against the US and many other countries.

The Foundation is managed by a group of activists and operates in full accordance with applicable US charity laws.

All personal donations will be used solely to help the children who were injured in Beslan or whose parents died as a result of this terror act.

It's like what I was thinking today. I'm not sure this would have happened if the parents were armed. Think 1500 people. Even if half the people in the school were parents and half of them had guns. That's over 350 people armed.

"financed by Abu Omar As-Seyf"

This guy has been behind 99% of the financing of all the Muslim Brotherhood activities in the last 10 years or so. And since the Muslim Brotherhood is the umbrella organization for all these other organizations like Hamas and Al-Qaida then it's only fitting he has his fingers in the Chechen activity. One of his chief goons, Abdullah Said al-Ghamdi, was killed in Chechnya in April. Guess it was payback time....

Sick Sad World....

Perhaps Russia will now declare war against Saudi Arabia. It might be good to have them do the dirty work and save Iran for us.

I'm preparing to make a donation. Does anyone have any reason not to trust this charity?
