War is Hell. Only Canadians would believe that a United States Airman would intentionally attack them. (Well the French would) As far as "Other" War. I wouldn't go there. Frankly, it has always been the British that have stood strong in face of unbelievable evil. I think we should have entered WWII earlier, but we had Canadian type politicos at the time.
While your politicos are jumping on and off the bandwagon, thousands are dying. I guess when the Islamofascist get around to blowing you all up, someone will take a stand.
However, when you get into bed with the devil (terrorist) and get raped, If Bill Clinton (or skerry) were President, their response would be "Put some ice on it."
Ask yourself one Question. If the friendly fire incident had been the other way. Do you really think American Politicians would have been calling Canada names, or insulting Canadian citizens.
You and some others here are doing the exact same thing with Canadians.
Have you not heard of the saying "two wrong don't make a right? I would only wish that both Canadians and Americans would put an end to the Canada/US bashing.
Ask yourself one Question. If the friendly fire incident had been the other way. Do you really think American Politicians would have been calling Canada names, or insulting Canadian citizens.
The Canadian politicians called the Americans names during the Iraq war NOT during the friendly fire incident. But I know what the response of some people NOT all on this site will be. They would say all the nastiest of things about Canadians.
Why in the world would a country like Canada back a vicious dictator like Saddam hussein. The French I understand, they are in bed with terrorist financially and ideologically. When you all dump these politicos and get some real people running your country all will be well again.
"Why in the world would a country like Canada back a vicious dictator like Saddam hussein."
Wow, this statement is WAY out there.
"When you all dump these politicos and get some real people running your country all will be well again."
I have no arguement with this.
BTW, as youngtory said, the name calling had nothing to do with the friendly fire incident. No one that I know of has stated that the US pilot bombed our guys on purpose. Lastly, booing ones national anthem/flag goes both ways and is done by boorish individuals, not the full populace.
As after September 11th we were all Americans, today we are all Russians...
It is unfortunate that you take such a strident position. We have attempted to explain that Canada is going through a severe cultural revolution and the only difference between the people governing our two countries was determined by a few hanging chads. If Gore had won I wonder what your mindset would be. Canadian Conservatives are fighting hard to oust the damned Liberals and the few incidents caused by a handfull of people pounced upon by the media pack dogs, do not represent Canadian attitude towards America. It is time for all Conservative Canadians and Americans to take the high road and stop bashing each other. Such B.S. only makes Bin Ladens day. This is going to be a long struggle and you just might need us inside the tent peeing out before it ends.
Canada should forget France and pick the side that is fighting this evil, not supporting it. Like I said, when you all get rid of those mean people running your gov, all will be well.
Agreed, thank God GWB won and will again and the cultural pendulum will continue swinging back in the right direction. Canada is not France and grass roots anti-terrorist sentiment is growing. It just seems we are always a couple of years behind the curve these days. My point was to illustrate how fine the line is between majority support on either side of the divide.
"I don't bash Canadian Conservs."
You should make this clear from the start. Your initial comments appeared to be all-inclusive.
Terror's familiar face... IS THE KORAN and it's followers.
This is similar you are right.
"Chechen rebels -- Islamic militants"
First newspaper to get it correct. Hapless reporter probably got fired.
"The horrific scene is already being referred to, as Peter Worthington notes opposite, as "Russia's 9/11.""
Not even close. Closer to Spain's 3-11, or Bali. But I'm picking nits here, aren't I?
Okay...
I remember those Canadian babies whining and crying like hyenas because their flag got flipped at the 1992 World Series. Wahhh.
That is exactly why he has not once mentioned it.
... and I suppose that given the reverse, there would be no complaints?
