If the watch over a neighborhood has to come from a grass roots level so be it.

It should. When we had front porches we could just sit out there and watch traffic. Modern residences don't have front porches. I think we should all build front porches and sit out there. That would build a sense of community and a lot less stuff would be going on. Safety through architecture.

I hear ya...but a couple of lawn chairs in the driveway under the open garage door for shade if necessary would suffice too. Until that porch is built of course. :)
