Muslims grow at 36%, Hindus down to 20.3 in India

NEW DELHI: The first-ever census report on religion on Monday showed a "high growth" of Muslims at 36 per cent in sharp contrast to the "decline" in the Hindu population to 20.3 per cent in the country.
In terms of growth of different religious communities, Hindus showed a decline over the previous decade, their population growing by 20.3 per cent during 1991 and 2001 as compared to 25.1 per cent during 1981-91. On the other hand, the Muslim population grew by 1.5 per cent to 36 per cent during 1991-2001, compared to 34.5 per cent during 1981-91, according to "the first report on religion" here.
The report, prepared by office of the registrar general and census commissioner, was released by census commissioner J K Banthia who presented a copy to chairman of Minorities Commission Tarlochan Singh.
Out of the total population of 102.8 crore in the country as at the 2001 census, the Hindus were 82.7 crore in number and constituted 80.5 per cent of the total population while the Muslims stood at 13.8 crore comprising 13.4 per cent of the population, the report said.
Banthia described the increase in Muslim population as "high growth" for which he said there were several reasons.

What is it though? In every country with a Muslim minority (Europe countries, India, wherever), the Muslims have the highest birth rates. Do they pass out instructions in the mosques to conquer the infidels by outbreeding them?:)

I was deeply impressed years ago and often bring to mind Will Durant’s chapters on the Moslem conquest of India from Part I, Our Oriental Heritage of his multi-volume Story of Civilization. As bookends to a cataloguing of the endless atrocities the invading Moslems perpetrated on the Hindus, he offers these two paragraphs:
“The Mohammedan Conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precarious thing, whose delicate complex of order and liberty, culture and peace may at any time be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within. The Hindus had allowed their strength to be wasted in internal division and war; they had adopted religions like Buddhism and Jainism, which unnerved them for the tasks of life; they had failed to organize their forces for the protection of their frontiers and their capitals, their wealth and their freedom, from the hordes of Scythians, Huns, Afghans, and Turks hovering about India’s boundaries and waiting for national weakness to let them in. For four hundred years (600 1000 A.D.) India invited conquest; and at last it came.”
and, after all the gory details about the introduction of the “Religion of Peace” onto the Indian subcontinent:
“This is the secret of the political history of modern India. Weakened by division, it succumbed to invaders; impoverished by invaders, it lost all power of resistance, and took refuge in supernatural consolations; it argued that both mastery and slavery were superficial delusions, and concluded that freedom of the body or the nation was hardly worth defending in so brief a life. The bitter lesson that may be drawn from this tragedy is that eternal vigilance is the price of civilization. A nation must love peace, but keep its powder dry.”

Take a look at it again. They're talking about population growth in a decade, not in a year.
It is by definition impossible to have true compound population growth by year. Children born this year do not have kids of their own next year.
BTW, almost all of the population explosion predictions of the last 40 years have been wildly too high. Population growth rates are falling rapidly almost throughout the world.

No in the 20th year Muslims are 90% more than Hindus, because as soon as they have enough power, they will drive out or kill the Hindus or tax them into oblivion.
