Draft dodging: In 1965 The vietnam Day committee (Berkeley)issued handbills for action. Printed by the Berkeley Free Press and addressed to "ALL Military Personnel" It purported to give the following "information" on the war:

Why we are fighting: "We are fighting on the side of Hitlerism...."

Who is the enemy: "When the SV people see you in your foreign uniform they will think of you as their enemy. You are the bombers of their towns....."

Fighting for Democracy: "Most people support the National Liberation Front, or Viet Cong."

Crushing the Risistance: "Prisoners are tortured. Our planes drop inceniary bombs on civilian villages....Our ;soldiers shoot at women and children...."

FYI Berkeley was the only campus (1965) in the U. S. that was singled out for specific commendation by the IUS. The International Union of Students as one of the largest internation Communist youth organizations. It maintained its main office at Vocelova 3, Prague2, Czechoslovakia.

Does anyone remember Bill Clintons visit to Czech. to visit his old Anti-war friends?

In the issue of News Service for August 1965, the Ius expressed gratitude to the groups in America that were contributing the most toward helping the Viet cong and hampering the American War effort. The groups named were:

Youth against War and fascism

May Second CommitteeStudent Non-Violent coordinating Committee

Student Peace Union

Students for a Democratic Society

Universities Committee on the Problems of War and Peace

Advance Youth Organizations

Berkeley Campus of the University of California

Progressive Youth Organizing committee

Young People's Socialist League

Women's Strike for Peace.

Is it any surprise that the same people (old commies Kerry et al and the new Terrorist loving, hate america) are in collusion now.

The more I've read about this lately causes me to ask. Did Bill Clinton and John Kerry know each other (personally) during this time? I just started really following this over the weekend and realize I have much to catch up on.

According to this article
http://www.angelfire.com/la/prophet1/clintonholmes.html

" For the remainder of the summer, Bill Clinton goes to Washington D.C. and works with the anti-war movement at the National Headquarters of the Vietnam Moratorium.

As September approached, Bill Clinton fails to enroll at the University Arkansas and returns to England around mid-September of 1969. It is quite clear that major changes in the draft would be forthcoming in the next few days or weeks..."

This maybe an exercise in futility to search out Clinton connections, but it does amaze me that so many anti-war folks have or had positions in our policymaking to weaken America's ability to defend herself.
