Unlike a lot of Minnesota Republicans, Norm Coleman, former DFL Mayor of St. Paul, is solidly conservative.
He would make a great running mate in 2008 and possibly even a candidate. The guy is good, smooth and honest. Despite the Wellstone pep-fest, Walter Mondale was a formidable candidate who had never lost an election in Minnesota (though he came close against Reagan in 1984).

I'm glad Coleman's counted toward the Rep. majority in the Senate, but
that's about all.
