CINCINNATI A heckler who briefly interrupted a speech by Democrat John Kerry today says he was assaulted by two men near him in the crowd before others shouted him down with cries of "Kerry, Kerry."
. . .Michael Russell of Foster, Kentucky, complained that his neck was hurt by a man who put him in a headlock after Russell started to yell about Kerry's allegation of war atrocities after returning from Navy service in Vietnam.

. . .but 'nuff said' about Kerry's respect for 'disenting views'- only theirs are legitimate.

Maybe he has Mary Beth Cahill doing that, now.
An union goon. Big surprise.
Yep. Time for this guy to use the left's favorite weapon against them and call a lawyer.
Lawsuit time. Call John Edwards.
If this keeps up we can keep Edwards out the Whitehouse for a long time
I obviously believe in protesting, but I have a problem when the speaker on either side does not get a chance to talk. People can carry signs and can make noise on the fringe of the event. Even that POS Kerry should be able to be heard.
From the source of your pictute:
Excerpt:
""You said you committed atrocities!" shouted Michael L. Russell of Foster, Ky., at the beginning of Kerry's speech.
That was about all he got to say before a union sheet metal worker sitting next to him got him in a headlock. Russell, a Teamster member who got an invitation through his union, tried to continue his speech, but 600 Kerry supporters shouted, "Ker-ry! Ker-ry! Ker-ry!" to drown him out.
Cincinnati police and U.S. Secret Service officers escorted Russell from the building. He was not arrested.
"He was a plant, obviously," said David Mann, the former Cincinnati mayor and congressman, who was sitting immediately behind Russell. "He would have kept on talking."
The outburst led Kerry to depart briefly from his prepared remarks.
"I have nothing but the greatest respect for people's right to express their opinion," Kerry said. "I might add, it's a terrific tactic of the Bush team. They love to disrupt. They love to interrupt. They don't want America to hear the truth."

How about the terrific tactics of the Kerry team on display at the RNC Convention?
I hope charges are filed soon; of course, this union goon will have his union. . .and George;and Kerryf; and Teresah. . .to help with any additional expenses.
Disgusting people; disgusting candidate. . .never mind Kerry's typical disgusting delivery of a disgusting speech.
Nope. The union goons probably have Edwards on a very fat retainer.
I see Kerry prefers ball caps and yellow shirts to crisp military-style brown shirts on the goons he uses to suppress dissent. Not much of an improvement: fascist tactics without the natty fashion sense.
Hey Vinney....where did you get that 'sheet metal' union shirt...
Duh boss done gib it to me....fohgettaboudit...
Hey Vinney ...whadda ya picking on that old guy for....
Duh boss says if we dont get rid of these Navy guys....we wont get our hands on dat pension fund...and that came straight from the top..
Ya mean the big linguinii hisself?...

You can sure say that again....help me get this guy into this headlock will ya...
I gotta be back in Joysey in by supper...
I agree in principle - and in a 'perfect world'. And while it may have been 'inpolitic' for Russel to question at that moment; he did not deserve that response to his 'free speech'.
I have no doubt that had he 'quietly' raised a sign; he would have he would have received the same undeserved and criminal response.
Funny response to man trying to shout the truth.
Edwards doesn't sue unions -- just productive businesses.
Of course, as the Clinton regime takes more and more control of Kerry; they may decide to just 'use' him for four years.
Doesn't this mean that this event was staged??? Why is the guy a "plant"" Isn't it possible that the guy was there to see what Kerry had to say? HE didn't like it and yell out.
If he was a plant that means everyone else that was there had a specidic invitation to be there.
